Not worth it
Tell me, why must you be forced to pay twice the normal prices for everything, even soda at $4. Not coming back. This place thinks they're too worthy of earning their money twice as fast, from tourists, it appears, because New Yorkers refuse to pay these prices.

Pricey but worth it
I think our coffees were literally 8 bucks each but it was seriously worth it for the vibe. Think Munich in the 20s. Could have sat there all afternoon.

Great sausages
Exhibition at Neue Galerie is closed until October 27th, so the Cafe is not so busy. Take advantage!

nice
Everything very nice. Fine bread and great sauce with goulash Minor complaint was that room was a little too noisy. (And why do the Viennese spoil the chocolate by adding apricot jam?)

Austrian Feel, Taste & Service :)
If you can afford to wait in (a long) line and put aside good service, this place is great albeit a little expensive. We came for the sausages (i thought they were really good!) and the girls liked their pretzels. The Zitronenschnitte was good too!! The sausages, coffees & atmosphere lure me back every time!

I am grateful to have the opportunity to get Meinl coffee and goesser beer like in Vienna. This place is exellent!

nothing special except atmosphere....
We were there with our grown up children. The Weisswurst with patatoe salad. The Weisswurst was not hot but lukewarm and the saldad microscopic. The desserts just have the name of it... chocalate no taste, caramel..no taste..Good coffee and peppermint tea ! Highlight.. Günther Jauch (german television star) and his family . They had to wait like everybody else. Place is nice for coffee or tea. Won't go a second time.
