Great breafasts and brunches
Food is great, coffee is an Americano for which one could not get better, service is just fine considering how busy they are and low prices.

Ok food. Poor service.
The food was good for the price, but the service was not. Also, they advertise themselves as having "gluten-free" options but upon asking the waitress (who had no idea what gluten-free was!) we found out those options consist of the same naturally gluten-free foods you'd find at any other restaurant on earth. The waitress seemed more interested in talking to the bartender and various friends who came in. She spilled my drink all over the table and after *I* cleaned it up with my napkin, she never gave me another napkin and never asked if we wanted more drinks. When she took our empty plates she also took our silverware and left us with nothing to work on the one plate of food we had left to eat.

Probably one of the last good moderate restaurants in Manhattan
I've been going here for years and the food is fresh and well prepared - service is quite good. Unfortunately, they discontinued their reasonably priced house wine, but they have other selections at good prices. Outdoor cafe is a treat in NYC

Amazing food!
We were incredibly impressed with Orlin. The schnitzel was way worth the price. We tried a lot of peoples plates in our group and nothing fell short.

Cheap food, arrogant staff.
Upon arriving at Cafe Orlin, customers are not greated in any form. Instead they find their own table in a confused manner. Judging by the looks on the staff's face's, they really hate their job. The waitress eventually found time away from chatting at the bar to come serve us, which she did by standing and looking at us. The only words that left her mouth during the entire visit was "how do you want your eggs?". Food arrives in a respectable time and is acceptable for the price you pay. The food and price however do not make up for the rudeness and general snobbery of the staff, who at times whisper and laugh whilst looking at certain customers. My wife and I found this quite amusing as it felt like being served by a hormonal, moody teenager. Looking around Cafe Orlin leaves you with the distinct impression that the owner and staff would be much happier if it wasn't for the customers. Average food, cheap prices, poor service and atmosphere.

two words: Millet Pancakes
both my friend and I had the millet pancakes and we were in heaven. We were there early enough to beat the brunch rush, and the service was quick efficient and friendly.
