Great cocktails and atmosphere-blah food
If you just want to meet friends for a drink/glass of wine and you want a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, this is a great place. But I wouldnt order food. We ordered small plates, they all came out at different times, it was REALLY slow (despite being practically empty) and it was mediocre. I would definitely go back again but only for drinks. They have one cocktail thats coconut, pineapple, sake, and something else and I had dreams about it for a week!

Drinks not dinner
Ate here last week, and there was an entertaining jazz band. The music was not too loud, and the atmosphere is romantic. The menu could use some more diversity (i.e., most items involve some combination of cured meats and/or cheese) and substance. There are no real entrees to speak of. That said, we were able to combine enough small plates to feel satisfied. The cheese plate we ordered was delicious (the online menu does not reflect the choices we had last week), and the pizza was unremarkable. Cafe Notte probably makes more sense for drinks and lite fare than it does for dinner. The one glaring negative of the evening was the service. We waited 45 minutes for our cheese plate, and close to an hour for glasses of water (luckily the wine came rather quickly). It also took close to 20 minutes to get the check. Overall, the lounge atmosphere is a welcome alternative to other UES choices for drinks and live music.

poor service
I will never go back to this place. The wait staff was unfriendly and the manager was possibly the rudest person I ever dealt with. The atmosphere is nice except it's always empty so doesn't make for much of an atmosphere at all. I would never give my money to this bar again solely based on the way my friends and I were treated by the manager. There are tons of places in the city that are definitely more worth going to.

More like unhappy hour
Their website says they have happy hour wed 7-10 with wine specials. The truth is, they had one wine special on one glass of red wine (7 instead of 10 dollars). Additionally, the service was very slow. We waited 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive, 1 hour for our second to arrive, and asked for the bill before the 3rd. Manager was as unhelpful and absent as our waitress. I recommend this restaurant if you want to have an overpriced, underserved time.

looks nice, no substance
Bar staff not knowledgeable about wines and cheese options/pairings. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting with appropriate music, however we were very disappointed with the sampling plates that were garnished with more salad to fill space. Go here for the wine and small bites before you go somewhere else for more substantial meal.

Cafe Notte
Everything about this place says "relaxed, pretty and inviting". Food is superb staff is attentive, wine list is impressive, without being obnoxious. Seems to be a magnet for very attractive 30ish women- the perfect compliment to overall ambiance.

A Nice Place
Most of the reviews here appear to be written by the restaurant's staff, so I'll give my honest opinion. Went here with my girlfriend the other night. The owner gave us a nice table in the big back room, which was dotted with couples and a girl who was trying to read (The place claims to be an internet cafe, but I could barely read the menu, it was so dark in there). We ordered a bottle of wine, which wasn't in stock. Ordered another one, which also wasn't in stock (The waiter said they were very busy the night before). Thankfully he did the right thing and gave us a similar wine, one step up, for the same price, saving us about ten bucks. The white bean/artichoke dip is great, the panini are very tasty but greasy, and the cheese/meat plates are good but a bit skimpy. The staff tries hard to be accomodating, but it's easy to tell the place has only been open a couple months- after ordering a second bottle of wine, our waitress put out clean glasses, which were taken away by the manager 30 seconds later because he thought they were dirty. All in all though, it was a very nice, relaxed time, and the place is nice and dark and cool. Among the many wine bars that have recently opened in the neighborhood, it's the biggest and sleekest, and I'll most likely be returning.
