    Very quaint, a keeper

This cafe was great fun to go to. I went with friends for coffees and appetizers. The drinks were delicious, and the warm brie app is highly reccommended. The waiter was very cute and flirtatious, and the whole wait staff was very casual. The decor inside is fun, yet we sat right up front by the window. It was fun to imagine Diane Lane walking in through the doors in Unfaithful. I'll be coming back.

    Hidden Gem

If you're going on a trip to New York or just looking for a new place to nosh, check out Cafe Noir. It's small, dark, and the service isn't always the friendliest, but the Moroccan food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is incredible, there's live music (but not in-your-face loud), the wine list is great (and the wait staff is definitely helpful with selection). If you're going for a visit, check it out, if you have friends coming into town, take them there. They'll be so impressed with how progressive your tastes have become. And if you're a longtime resident and haven't been, now's the time.

    Service was poor

The food, sangria, and atmosphere is great, but the service is the worst I've ever seen. The bartenders' arrogance is unbelievable. Our $3 tip for a pitcher of sangria was deemed insufficient by the bartender who laughed at us, looked us up & down, asked if we were from out of town (no) and then asked if there was some problem w/ the sangria (no). He refused to serve us after that & began telling the rest of the staff & a couple of other customers that we need to go find a place that's more at our level. Unbelievable!

    Fantastic

The food was fantastic, especially the desserts (and we tried all of them). Cafe Noir has a great atmosphere and the service was wonderful.

    A Good First Experience

The place is small but cute. The crowd? Lively. The food? my money's worth. Anybody who goes to this establishment MUST try their cr?me brule? for it is to die for. Their collection of red wines are pretty good and goes very good with their short ribs. All in all this place would be awesome in the summer time, although I went during the winter.
