poor service
I stepped out for dinner last night at Cafe Noir and I don't think I have ever had such mediocre waiting service before. Despite the lateness of some of the guests, I felt the waittress was being rude, very abrupt and has very little skills for being part of the service industry. Nowadays, I believe restaurant owners should be cognisant of the way their staff behave towards the customer. Needless to say, this was my first time at Cafe Noir and perhaps my last.

Disappointing
The paella was beyond poor - rice was undercooked, peas tasted like shriveled, frozen messes, and calamari was very rubbery. Mussels were ok, but as someone mentioned below, the shrimp still had the heads (unappetizing). The wait staff was far less than attentive, spending most of their time socializing instead of helping us. Drinks were good and the atmosphere is very nice, so if you just want cocktails, go for it. Otherwise...I'd advise staying away.

Try the assorted multi-tier appetizers
I love this place. Romantic and very sexy. Perfect mojitos and capirenas. They have these assorted appetizers they will bring you on 3 tiered platters. Perfect for two people. Order that and some drinks and you are good to go. Not too expensive, either.

Tasty food Lousy Service
Yes, lively. Big bar scene. Our meal was quite good. Good steak, attractive and tasty appetizers. Prices are fine. The service was not professional. The busboy was the most attentive. We needed silverwear, water and our candle lit. They never checked on us either. The wait staff seemed to be more interested in themselves.

I can read the menu, thanks
Mediocre service. We were made to change tables and placed in a dark corner. Three different people plopped down our food. Cold brie encrusted in sweet fried grease. Limp veggies that tasted boiled with grill marks added just to match the menu description. Smothered falafel. Undercooked lamb. Mojitos with so many limes, a bushel of mint + ice cubes that there was little room for alcohol. Did I mention the bad service? No one came around to ask how everything was. No refills on drinks or water. I've eaten here on plenty of occasions and have had a great time and loved the food. Something has changed. Cafe Noir needs a serious attitude adjustment.

If you want good tapas...dont go here!
I have heard such great things about this place so I went to try the tapas. I was not a fan! They brought everything out so fast, trying to rush us to leave. The mussels looked bad, they were black so we sent them back! The shrimp still had the heads on them which is less than appetizing. If you want tapas, go somewhere else!
