Cafe Mogador

I've always loved Mogador having visited NYC many times and eaten there, but this last time was a not as pleasant. I was told, even though the restaurant was fairly empty since I was alone, I could not sit at a table unless I was eating with someone and my only choice was to sit at the bar (it's first come first serve). The bar was crowded and there was no room, but when the same maitre de saw me leaving, went over and scooted people over. About 1/2 hour later I saw a single man sit at a table for two, the maitre'de said nothing even though there was room at the bar at the time. Was it a gender thing? After a fairly good meal, although no vegetables to speak of, with my salmon dinner, I paid with my credit card and signed off, with a nagging feeling and asked the bartender who had waited on me if that was all and he said yes. I went to the bathroom and left and later realized he hadn't returned my credit card. The whole experience will make me think twice before I go there again.

My mother is moroccan, so I know Moroccan cuisine. The food and ambiance are really good BUT the waitress are rude, not smiling .I talked to the manager and owner both are super adorable....

I sat here for a really long time with a great friend and had both breakfast and lunch! Superior coffee and great ambience, Yummy middle eastern fair. Highly reccommend.

The food was mediocre and the service was beyond subpar. The bus boy constantly reached across our table to refill the water glasses of another table. Finally, when the food was served I glared at the guy and asked him to please stop. There are so many great restaurants in Manhattan that provide good food and good service.

Delicious hummus, falafel and Moroccan cuisine Great atmosphere and location. Get the risotto please.

Wow - sorry to hear about the other poor reviews. If that olive comment is serious that is BRUTAL. I went here after wanting to try for a bit and I had a great experience. I went for lunch and found the value excellent and the ambiance charming. I would definitely go back and think it is a great place for friends, family, and dates!

This place consistently delivers fresh and tasty food. Everything I have tasted there was exceptional. The place feels like home, and the food tastes homemade as well!! definitely highly recommended!
