    good food and service

hard to believe all the complaints i read here. yes it was busy and we still had to wait beyond the start of our opentable reservations, but our waitress was overly helpful and friendly, often stopping by to fuss and rearrange utensils and noticed something missing on our order just after we were served (rushed a side of hollendais that was missing). she was sweet and professional. i guess for the prices the bar is set high, but they passed in my opinion.

    Extremely overpriced food and drinks

I have been to this restaurant twice, the second time only because I live a few blocks away and thought I would give it a second chance. The food is mediocre at best and the service is stuffy. My biggest complaint about the restaurant is the prices. This place is so overpriced it's insane. Save your money and eat at a good restaurant for less.

    Not bad...

We like to go there for Sunday brunch. Nice atmosphere. My wife, a vegetarian, called them not that long ago asking what she could eat there for dinner. Not much, apparently. Would they make up something for her? Not really, she was told. Couldn't care less.

    rushed

I went on a date here a couple of months ago. It was nice and is upscale. I NEVER FELT SO RUSHED in my life. We werent even done with the oysters and they tried to take it away. I was eating my $26 CHEAP chicken and they pulled it away while i was cutting the meat! I Was so upset. Yes we are young under 30 but we were PAYING customers. The food was good but if you want to have a nice dinner that you wont feel like you have to eat like a madman, then dont go here.

Fine dinner before Philharmonic at LC

I tasted two of the entrees. The short ribs were excellent as was the red snapper. The portion size was fine. Service was fine with the exception of one of our party being hit fairly often in the head by a waiter placing food on the nect table. It's a pleasant place. Yes, it is expensive.

too expensive for what you get

Lets put it this way, the appetizer and the main course were both tiny. That and the dessert cost us over a 100 per head. And after it was done i felt like i had to eat again in the next hour. Thanks god i had eaten an hr before getting to the restaurant. Definitely not a good value. Sounds great but .... And i agree w the rolls being too hard. Not going back again anytime.

    way overpriced tiny salad-warm coffee

Third and last visit ! Pretentious and expensive and ordinary food. Would have returned the teeny goat cheese arugula salad but was embarrassed in front of my parents. How dare they charge $15.00 for the cup sized greens and one piece of goat cheese smaller than a postage stamp. The salmon was no bargain and the coffee was lukewarm. The rolls are tough to chew. Amazing that this place has existed for so long ! The only saving grace is an occassional celeb sighting which is not worth the exorbitant cover charge !
