There seems to be some confusion over at Cafe Health Exchange as to what they actually serve. Sometimes when I order from their menu (off menu pages or the online ordering site they maintain) they act like they've never heard of things like a "garden salad". Each time it's a new salad and each time they remove another ingredient, essentially making me pay $8 for lettuce and a few mealy tomatoes. No thank you! Good food if you can go in and see what they're making but for delivery it's too much of a gamble.

I agree. I don't think the reviewer below was at cafe health exchange. I have been going there since the 80's and they have ALWAYS had their vegetables and brown rice! I order it almost every week. I loove their veggie chili and make your own salad station. They may have some "greasy" and some not so healthy foods, but they've got to please everyone. The menu has the best variety in the area. Healthy, low carb, gluten free, vegan and the basic hot and cold foods. As you can tell I love this place and would recommend it to anyone who eats downtown!

Last poster must have went someplace else. Cafe Health Exchange has great food and everyone there clearly knows what is going on. The chef has a great personality and always takes the time to greet people and they ALWAYS have brown rice!! That's one of their staples!

This place is misleading saying that it is healthy. just because you have a your own salad station and $5 smoothies made with non fat yogurt doesnt make you a healthy option if the rest of the food is greasy and saturated in salty sauces. i saw the greasiest french fries ive ever seen in my life being served there. almost see through! i tried to order the vegetable platter over brown rice thats clearly on the menu and they looked at me like i was nuts and asked me what kind of vegetables? thats when i knoew i should not order that, especially since they said that they didnt even have brown rice.

I'm sure it's delicious, but if you're going to put cheese in the turkey meatloaf, PLEASE tell us about it. If you're going to call yourself healthy, then remember, healthy eaters are careful eaters. Remember, we're ordering sight unseen, so if we're allergic to something that isn't ordinarily in an item, then you need to describe the item on your menu more fully.

The cafe exchange has amazing hot dishes, and a huge salad bar. Has expanded and given more seating and more selection. Amazing food, for a great price!

Amazing, amazing dishes. The resturant is very tight and small - however we order from there all the time. The chicken and rice dishes are wonderfull but my favorite is the steamed vegetables over brown rice topped with cheese. The sauce they put on it is great as well. Sounds simple but tastes delicious!
