Grumpy makes me happy
Relaxed, low key, small but not cramped, very good beverages. Food selection is limited. Open laptops not allowed so don't plan on working from Grumpy for the afternoon. People working here are always friendly, helpful, and serious about what they do so well. Love this place.

Good But Not Great
The cappuccinos were small but powerful and a bit too bitter to my liking. The biscuits/cakes weren't good either! It's definitely better than Starbucks but isn't as good as Joe, Culture Espresso or Macchiato... and the loud orange paint on the walls gives me a headache.

A Coffee Temple
Hello, my name is Joe and I am a javaholic. I still love a classic cup of New York coffee, but I live for real Italian espresso and until recently few NY establishments had a clue on how to make it well. Not any more. Cafe Grumpy is SERIOUS java, and a fantastic addition to the 'hood. Real espresso with a perfect crema, beautiful latte art designs by the friendly baristas, and a wonderful selection of freshly roasted coffee to take home. I like the bright orange theme to the place, just wish there were more places to sit. I now often walk many blocks out of my way to get coffee here when I have the chance. Thank you Grumpy!!!!
