    Great salads!

They greet the regulars by their name. Amazing salads and great coffee. The desserts could be cheaper but they are soooooo delicious.

    Coffee Grinds Anyone?

If anyone likes to digest coffee grinds with their coffee, this is the place for you! I live right around the corner. Over the winter I had several cups of coffee, all of which had coffee grinds at the bttm of the cup. I stopped going. After getting tired of dealing with long lines at Drunkin Donuts.. I recently returned to Cafe Green for Iced Coffee. I have gone the last 2 weeks with no problems, and then today I got a small iced coffee, the bottom of the cup was BLACK, it was filled with coffee grinds. I said to them, "look at all of these coffee grinds!" his response was "Oh well!" **If you're wondering why neighborhood people are bypassing your cafe and going into Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Ess-a-Bagel, and Starbucks for their coffee... maybe you should pay a little bit more attention to the presentation and quality of your coffee. I will take my $3 and go back to Dunkin' Donuts everyday! I'd rather wait on line then digest coffee grinds. (There are ways of eliminating coffee grinds in the coffee you serve to people, it's not rocket science)

    Delicious Crispy Panini!

Just walked by Green Cafe and went in on a whim. The owner is very nice and let me try their famous macarons, which are very good. I had a braseola panini and it was delicious, made with all fresh ingredients to order. The mozz was fresh and the bread was nice and crispy. I will definitely go back!

    Very Good

This place is famous for their french macaroons! They are amazing. A bit pricey but they are all handmade. My favorite dishes are the paninis and the salads! Very tasty, clean food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Good for simple sandwiches & salads, & macaroons

I live across the street from this place, so I was eager to give it a try -- I was hoping there'd finally be a good little cafe nearby. I've tried it for coffee multiple times, and the coffee and espresso, honestly, aren't good. After a few sips, I've tossed into the trash the last couple of cafe au laits I ordered there. I might be able to overlook the cruddy coffee if they had a better selection of pastries, but it's mostly cookies and muffins that aren't made on site and are very heavy & sweet. Sometimes there is a lone croissant, but often not. Their refrigerated case is filled with French macaroons (apparently, macaroons are about to be the new cupcakes in NYC), some of which are quite tasty. This makes Cafe Green my go-to place for a hostess gift -- but beware, those things are EXPENSIVE!! My husband and I shared the turkey panini once and it was very simple but very good. Portions aren't huge. The owner is from the Middle East, I believe, so there are some nice couscous dishes on the menu. (He is very nice, as are the one or two other people who work there, but it is a bare-bones staff and they do everything themselves, so expect to wait a while for anything from a coffee to a sandwich.) The salad and sandwich menu is very nice, very big on vegetables and fresh, healthy things, so I will probably come back for those things -- but not for morning coffee or pastry.
