for me as a small and irrelevant German Cafe Greco seemed to be on the one hand the realisation of the American dreams which are in the ears of us Germans when talking about to start a career in the states. On the other hand you feel very welcome in this restaurant accompanied by - of course - best food, service and suave audience, which certainly is the result of respective care and aura of the owner family!!.

I'll have to disagree with the other reviewers and say that I find the food to be rather bland. I think the food caters to an American palate rather than being authentic. It is pricey for the quality. Service is fine although sometimes they cannot answer your questions as well as they might. The restaurant tends to be quiet which can be a nice thing sometimes

Cafe Greco is my favorite NYC restaurant. The menu is outstanding, the service is freat and the owners are wonderful. The prices are quite reasonable. Get the hanger steak if it on the menu..the best anywhere.

The service was extra warm and courteous. The food was nice- light, simple and filling. The layout of the restaurant was amazing- very large windows, spread out seating and wonderful natural lighting make this one of my favorite places. I had a really, really nice birthday. Thank you Gus! I didn't expect to have such a nice time. I'm not sure if I want to brag about Cafe Greco from now on or keep it all to myself.

I love having lunch at this restaurant I drive from philadelpha to met a couple of friends once every couple of months I love seseme tuna and the wine is good by the caraf

I've been going to Greco since they opened! We call it "The Club" and even though it isn't a "hip" scene, it's the perfect palce to have a wonderful dinner and a well-mixed drink. I'm part of the younger crowd that really loves this place for comfort food...and leave the gourmet food to the French. Try their Oso Bucco, Sesame Crusted Tuna, Grilled Salmon...well, just have them all. You'll love it, but keep the secret so I can still get in!

My husband and I are regulars here. We love the food, the service and the family that owns the restaurant. They are so sweet and make us feel at home. The food is always good and the bartenders are fantastic. I couldn't be happier that it isn't a "scene". I don't go out to dinner to be "seen." I like to relax, have a cocktail and enjoy excellent food. That is what this place is all about. The seafood is always so fresh, simply prepared and delicious. It is a good place to go if you are trying to eat a healthy diet.
