Mediocre...can be better
the Food is better than so many other brighton beach locations but still not the best! go to blinnaya or Tatiana cafe to enjoy a better tasted russian/Ukrainian food and better service!

Greatly Disappointed. Very average place.
Greatly Disappointed. Was planning to go there for a while and finally stopped by. Very average place, food is mediocre, my favorite soup Solyanka that I am always ordering in other places, was simply poor, served barely warm as a small portion served in a half-full bowl. No sour cream in it or on a side, no slice of lemon in it, taste is funky (possibly from chopped kidneys in it? or some other ingredient that they use that clearly does not belong in the recipe). But if I wanted kidney taste, I would be ordering rassolnik... Pelmeni served with no sour cream on a side, no-one even bothered to ask if I would like any. Pelmeni taste good though, but not better then other places I frequently visit. Compot is served in a half-full glass as well and taste nothing like a freshly prepared one, but more like something of a canned fruit type. Bottom line- take your money somewhere else, like Oceanview Cafe on Brighton Beach or Blinnaya on Oriental Blvd. Waiters are though polite, but completely disinterested and distanced. And simply dosing off in a dining room, leaning against the wall. Will never go back.

Flashback to Russia
I used to live in Russia for 14 years since I was 11 y.o. As this restaurant had lots of good scores in another review, I decided to visit this place. And the price was actually one of the cheapest of all I researched in Brighton Beach. I ordered "Pelmeni Siberian" (Boiled Dumplings with meat) and it comes with sour cream that all Russian people love to eat with. It was absolutely great, it was juicy! I liked the interior of the restaurant too! It was "country style" or "Folk" style that I loved.
