    Tasty and exotic

Got the steak tacos. Very tasty; accompanied with unique sauces: spicy mole and this cream-based green pepper sauce. Beans were average. Prices a little more than expected. Nicely decorated interior, but not much table space (especially for a romantic dinner). Guacamole was awesome! Bottomline: Good food; good place to come once on a date (at least once) especially if you’re going to be spending a lot on dinner.

    The best in everywhere

I've been going to Frida for over 10 yrs. Never disappointed by the food or the people who work there. I have had parties of 64 or more there with no complaints. The food does take some time to make, but I would rather have my food to order than something that has been laying around for awhile. Everything on the menu is fabulous and the specials are devine. The price is not cheap, but what can you expect with the address. You will not be disappointed. Make a reservation for after 6:30pm or you will be waiting for awhile. Everyday the place is packed in the evening because it is excellent. The drinks are also tasty.

    Brunch was delicious!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant on Sunday for brunch. We had a quiet table inside where the A/C was at a perfect temp. (it was hot out!). I had the Spinach Fritatta with Rosemary potatos and my bf had a pork burrito with plantains. Everything was delicious! We also both had mixed drinks with one of the many tequillas offered. The service was iffy. Our waiter looked like he was going to fall asleep at any moment and then forgot an extra side of salsa...not a big deal. Overall it was lovely and we will definitely we going back.

    Overpriced and underperforming

We went here on a Sunday evening. We had a nice table by the window and our server was friendly. However, all of the food had a similar flavor--the guacamole ($11!), the short ribs, and the steak fajitas. The meat didn't taste like it was very fresh/of good quality and the food could've all used some more seasoning. The service was very slow and, at $90 for 2 people, without alcohol or dessert, we found it very overpriced.

    Not recommended

I went here with five friends tonight, after having been here twice before. I will honestly never go back. The service was very slow (on a Tuesday!) and the waitress kept on giving us our food/drinks and then disappearing. The wait staff was not friendly, and then we were double - charged for two guacamoles when we only ordered one (which, by the way, came AFTER our meal was finished) although we ordered it first thing. The food took forever to come out of the kitchen, and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't worth my two tiny $11 shrimp quesadillas. The drinks are good, but pricey for what they are, and the ambiance is fine, but you can definitely do better elsewhere.

    Night for friends, not food

I went here for dinner with a group of friends. We were lucky to get a table upstairs which had a much cozier and more intimate ambiance than downstairs, and it was much easier to hear. Beware, on Saturday nights the restaurant can get very loud. We ordered a few bowls of guacamole, I thought the regular guac was a bit salty but the medium spicy which was very good. We ended up noshing a lot on the chips because they put them down on the table wayyy before the guacamole. The service was slow, maybe because we were upstairs in the back. The chicken enchilda was not memorable, but the desserts were good including the mixed berries, and the chocolate cake.

The Best Mexican Restaurant in NYC!

This is my favorite restaurant in New York. I have been going here for many years and have yet to be disappointed! It has a lively atmosphere, attentive waitors, and above all; incredible food!! Definately try the guacamole, they make it at your table!
