    Muy bien!

4 of us dropped in to have dinner last night after checking out the menu. The guacamole was the best I've ever had. Nice to watch it prepared fresh with perfectly ripe avocados - try the spicy style- it's wonderful! Although we all had nonconventional Mexican food i.e. lamb shanks, sushi grade tuna, every meal was excellent. Service was attentive. The prices are definitely not Manhattan - very good value for the $. 4 people, 4 drinks, no dessert - $130

    Pretty darn good

First time dining at Frida's, and I was pleasantly surprised. The guacamole was very good. The queso fundido was awesome and the fajitas fun! I had many better Margaritas elsewhere so after I ordered beer. Overall a good experience. The place itself is small but what place isn't?

    Highly recommended for lunch

We were at the American Museum of Natural History and escaped for lunch. We found this place just by walking around, checked out the menu and went in. It was cozy and nicely decorated, and the food was really quite good. I was attracted to the name as well, having recently seen the movie about Frida Callo again, as well as the recent documentary about her life on PBS. Anyhow, we had a nice time, with quick and attentive service, and some very good food. I would recommend it for lunch any time.

    Not recommended

The guacamole was great! The potions are not reflected in the price. Food was good, a different style of mexican but awesome seafood selection. The atmosphere was cozy but the service lacked. Our waiter was nice but never checked on us or refilled our drinks. The price was just not worth it. I probably wont be going there again.

    Their Guacamole beats Rosa Mexicano's

We stopped by Cafe Frida for a quick lunch while visiting the Museum and were wowed by their AMAZING guacamole. As guac lovers we've always been told and somewhat agreed that Rosa Mexicano has the BEST in the city but Cafe Frida's was just as tasty if not MORE so and literally 1/2 the price. A new favorite.

    We Love Cafe Frida

We are from California and good ol' Wisconsin, and this is (in our opinion) the very best Mexican food we have ever eaten, and we have had a lot of good good good Mexican food. Let us just say: The guacamole is the best! It is so amazing, I am drooling just thinking about it, and everything else there that we have had and we've tried about 5 things, were all excellent. Anything with Poblanas is "excellente" so to speak. Muy Bien!

    Best quality Mexican in NYC

I'm from California and let me tell you...most of NYC lacks decent Mexican food (and not that crap Tex-Mex). Cafe Frida may be a little expensive for Mexican, but the quality is excellent. The guacamole is the BEST! Great mojitos too. Whether you eat brunch or dinner, you are sure to feel satisfied leaving the restaurant.
