Mediocre
Who is writing these reviews? I have dined at places from Shake Shack to Daniel and was very excited about trying a place in my neighborhood that came so highly recommended by Menupages. Atmosphere: Poorly ventilated Uncomfortable and crowded seating Food: Appetizers- I ordered the house salad and my friend ordered the roasted red pepper soup. My salad was a few greens carelessly thrown on a plate with shreds of carrot and some grape tomatoes. Salad dressing tasted like it was out of a bottle. My friend's soup tasted like it came straight out of a carton from Trader Joe's. Main Courses: I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. My friend chose the baked cod with broccoli rabe and green beans. As I cut into my salmon I was horrified to see blood on a piece of my fish. My friend's cod was unremarkable and under seasoned. The side dishes also left a lot to be desired. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came straight out of a box. The mac and cheese was so bad I wished it had come out of a box because it would have been better. The green beans were unremarkable. The best side dish was the broccoli rabe. The cobbler for desert was nice, warm and tart, but did not make up for the shortcomings in the other dishes. The lack of flavor combined with the lukewarm temperature at which the meal was served smacked of cafeteria food.

Wish is was better
I really wanted this to be great because of all of the rave reviews (typical first line to a bad review), and I like to support local, small businesses. When I walked in, it was too hot to sit inside because the A/C was broken, so I just got a dessert to go. I think paying $7.50 for a small slice of lemon tart at a cash only place with no atmosphere is a bit ridiculous. The kicker was that I asked for a bag, and the guy placed my expensive tart slice in a crumpled, crinkled, used black plastic bag. It's one thing if I re-use a bag; it's another thing if an establishment reuses one. Not going back, unfortunately.

So impressed with this place!
I had an amazing lunch here the other day and I have found my new go-to spot in the neighborhood. The food was incredible, definitely one of the best croque madame's I've ever had, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable. It is nearly impossible to find restaurants this warm, relaxed and delicious!

Excellent brunch and service
I adore this place. I went to school nearby for a while and went to Cafe Forant every chance I got. I usually ordered the croque madame, which is superb. The owners are incredibly nice as well.

Good food, atmosphere is lacking in the summer.
The food here was very interesting because they add these extra "herby" spices to all their stuff that gives the illusions that the food they're serving is more healthy. Their drinks have an extra kick to it like the lavendar lemonade they offer. My coworker and I spent $20 each for lunch while sitting down at Cafe Forant one day while each ordering one entre and one lemonade. The atmosphere, although nice for wintertime, is not so great for the summertime. We don't like sitting on the sidewalk as there are cars and people walking by and we're not into eating dust along with our food, so we resorted to sitting behind the glass space, which was kind of unbearable since it was nearly 85 degrees outside and the space inside felt close to 100 because the kitchen is so close by, with no ventilation. One the plus side, the waitress was very nice.

My Favorite Place
The food, the people, the feel... this place is my absolute favorite. I have had almost everything on the menu and everything is good. And they have the best iced coffee I have ever tasted. There is nothing wrong with this lovely little place. Great for brunch!

Awesome
I just wanna say thank you to Leah and her team. The place is charming, neat & warm; the service, superb; the food, outstanding. You feel like home there. Hope you can find in Spain a similar place when you came on holiday. Big hug...
