How unpleasant. Like being in the bar car of a commuter train at 6:00 p.m. The milling, shoving, and noise level of people trying to tell the waiters what antipasti they want.....if you need to come here, do it after the theater rush.

The food here is... good. All I had was the vegetable antipasto plate, which is fun and tasty, but nothing to write home about. However, the dessert.. oh my goodness. My party ordered a tartufo and the chocolate mousse. They serve the dark chocolate mousse and fresh whipped cream from champagne buckets. It is by far the best I have ever had. This place is worth going to (perhaps post a cultural event at nearby lincoln center) just for the mousse.

Good food, but a bit misrepresented..

I went there with my friend after doing a search here, and I saw that they serve some gluten free food. Appearantly, that is not the case. They can accomodate people with dietary restictions, but that is not the same as having some gluten free menu items. I wanted to get Salmon grilled with shrimp, artichokes, and plum tomatoes. Instead I got plain grilled salmon with 2 slices or tomato, and after asking to bring some grilled vegetables instead of the other stuff that was suppose to be in the dish, I was charged for that. Otherwise the salmon was pretty good and juicy.

    Great Food, Great Service!

With plans to see the Big Apple Circus, I suggested to my friend and her two kids that we go across the street to Cafe F. for the best thin crust pizza. I had only been here once before and had been seated right away so I didn't think we'd need reservations. Of course, the place was packed. I apologized for not having reservations & asked if they could accommodate the four of us. The maitre d' didn't seem to confident that he could help until I mentioned that we were going to the circus which started in 40 minutes. He immediately sat us down at a table that I'm assuming had a 6:30pm reservation, knowing we'd be gone before then. After explaining the timing situation to our waiter, we got our pizza within 10-15 minutes of ordering it. The staff were all very gracious and helpful and the food was fantastic. The kids, ages 3 & 4, were raving about it as well! Thanks for accommodating us on short notice!! I'll be sure to make reservations next time!

My husband and I stopped in on New Years Eve at 6:45, they had 1 table and told us we need it in an hour, but if you want it it's yours. We asked, Can you feed us in an hour? Answer Yes. Certian we would be rushed thru dinner, we went to our table and proceeded to have 1 of the best meals we have had in ages. I had Lentil Soup and Tom and Mozz salad, both excellent, Hubby had NY Strip w/ Artichoke and Mushrooms. Slammin'. Dessert, Lemon Tart and Cheesecake, both fab. No rush whatsoever. Can't wait to go back!

    Another new discovery...

Hats off to this excellent restaurant that still serves Chilean Sea Bass and serves it in a mouth watering presentation. Our waiter (who happened to be African American) couldn't have been more efficient, kind and courteous. We dropped in there at the spur of the moment, with no prior knowledge and found out we loved it and will be back on my next trip to the City.....hats off to all.

    A good bet

The UWS is hurting for good food...unfortunately, these guys are closing on the early side...still the food has maintained with slight changes over the years. Excellent pizza and antipasti.
