Overpriced Main courses more like appetizers

A dear friend loves this place. I neverwant to go there again. It is very overpriced for what they serve you. As an example the last tie I was there I had a pasta dish that waslisted on the menu as having pieces pf Italian sausage in it. I was hard pressed to find any sauge past the 2 or 3 small pieces that were more liek crumbled pieces of sausage. And while the flavor was good(not brillant) the portion of pasta was very small, more like an appetizer portion. And the price was $22.00.I wouldn't have minded that much if perhaps a small salad (and believe me, knowing this place, it would have been small)had accompanied it. We had to ask for the the bread and olive oil that usually comes automatically here. And we did not get served our drinks until we had finished our meal, even thoug we reminded the waitress 3 times. Another time I was there the waiter we had was very inattentive and we had to ask him several times for things as well. On both ocassions it was not as if they were extremely busy...we were there on off hours. Sufice to say I will never patronize this establishment again. The food has a nice flavor, but hte portions are quite small and ovepriced and while the waitstaff is pleasant most of them are very young and seem not to have great attention spans when it comes to servicing their patrons.

    way overpriced!

I thought the food was great here, as was the service. But wow...$220 dollars for two of us to have a pretty regular dinner...salad, lasagna, low-end bottle of wine. I live in the city, and am used to high prices, but this place seemed like the most expensive place I've ever eaten (for what it was).

    Four disappointed diners

This was a huge disappointment. There were four of us, and we found that the lasagne was subpar, the pasta barely adequate, the lemon sole so spiced it was unrecognizable, and the Marguerita pizza was cold. It was so noisy that conversation was difficult, and tables were virtually on top of each other. The only plus was excellent service, but I'd never go there again.

    So overpriced

I lived in this neighborhood for almost 6 years and was really looking forward to trying cafe fiorello as I past it almost everyday. I cant begin to tell you what a let down it was. 2 appetizers, 2 beers and 1 Pasta dish was $100. The Pasta Carbonara was 3 long noodles and one slice of Pancetta. Best thing about the place was that I was sitting across from my best friend talking about how we got dooped! We had to snack when we got home because the portions were so small.

    Skip this!

The food was just adequate. Portions small and prices high, even for NYC. Very crowded and noisy. The service was good, but not worth the cost.

    A Home run

Food was very good although somewhat overpriced. Service was attentive and friendly. As in most NYC places, the tables are too close!

    Gone Downhill

I used to loved this restaurant. It's now understaffed and the food has really gone down...but the prices have gone up. Too many other choices right there to go back.
