    An Excellent Experience

I recently had dinner at Fiorello's before a performance at Lincoln Center. The antipasto bar was a great way to expedite your meal and all of the offerings were delicious. I was particularly impressed with the service however. The barman, Trevor, who I believe has been there for years, is a true expert at his craft and sitting at his bar, I felt as comfortable as if I was in my own living room. Michael, the guy in charge, was gracious, attentive, and you could tell he really knew what he was doing. All in all, for a place that does a ton of volume and in a short span of time, they really had the personal touch. I would definitely go back, and recommend it to all my friends and colleagues. You really can see why it is such an institution, and it is nice to see that they don't take their great reputation for granted.

    Crowded but good

I really liked this place, apart from how crammed in we all were. It was valentine's night and I felt as though I was enjoying a date with not only my husband, but the bald guy to my right and the lady to my left! The food however, was very good and the service too - very attentive table service. Would definitely go again, but perhaps not for a romantic night out!

    Very pleased

I've eaten at Cafe Fiorello at least three times in the last 6 months and have not been disappointed even once with either the service or the meal. Yes, perhaps it's a bit pretentious. I've had their special lasagna and it is beautiful to behold and magnificent to taste. For those concerned about portion size, this is the meal to order! I'm happy to say that they've added the deliciously spicy meatballs on the lasagna to their bucatoni americiana and in doing so they have added an exciting taste sensation to an already quality Italian specialty. No, the bowl does not overflow with pasta but there is certainly enough for a hearty meal. The appetizer of scallops and shrimp is a very special treat I reserve for special ocassions. The staff is fantastically kind, helpful and efficient. I left my credit card behind one night and the woman who helped me on the phone when I called could not have been more gracious. Anything I dislike? I don't like the choice of breads they serve. I've never had room for dessert.

    location location location

I expected high prices but this was a farce. The food portions were half of what you would expect. I ordered a salad with shaved parm. There were a few scraps of parm over a handful of romaine. The lasagna was open face like a taco. They took the fastest cheapest way out. $30 for that pasta taco by the way. The service was easily ticked off, I felt like a burden. I suppose because they are in a great location they think it's okay to serve slop with an attitude.

    Massively overpriced

Pizza was ok and unique but the pizza was more than twice other pizza's in town. and its not that great, but ok.

    I Love this Place

This is the place I take all my out of town guests as well as neighbors. I have never been disappointed. I love to sit at the bar as all the bar tenders remember names, faces, and couldn't be more gracious. The antipasti bar is always a treat to the eye and the palate, as well as being a good value. Everyone that I send there, loves there experience! This has been my favorite westside restaurant"hangout" for a very longtime.

Overpriced Main courses more like appetizers

A dear friend loves this place. I neverwant to go there again. It is very overpriced for what they serve you. As an example the last tie I was there I had a pasta dish that waslisted on the menu as having pieces pf Italian sausage in it. I was hard pressed to find any sauge past the 2 or 3 small pieces that were more liek crumbled pieces of sausage. And while the flavor was good(not brillant) the portion of pasta was very small, more like an appetizer portion. And the price was $22.00.I wouldn't have minded that much if perhaps a small salad (and believe me, knowing this place, it would have been small)had accompanied it. We had to ask for the the bread and olive oil that usually comes automatically here. And we did not get served our drinks until we had finished our meal, even thoug we reminded the waitress 3 times. Another time I was there the waiter we had was very inattentive and we had to ask him several times for things as well. On both ocassions it was not as if they were extremely busy...we were there on off hours. Sufice to say I will never patronize this establishment again. The food has a nice flavor, but hte portions are quite small and ovepriced and while the waitstaff is pleasant most of them are very young and seem not to have great attention spans when it comes to servicing their patrons.
