I've been going to Cafe 82 with my wife for the past 5 years and it's one of our favorite places to eat. The portions are huge and the food is just great. Also, Cafe 82 has some of the best restaurant service I've seen. Quick service, and the waiters are super friendly too!

We went the first day it opened 18+ years ago and are still going, now with our 10 year old twins. What first drew us was the friendly staff, the delicious food (check out the veggie lasagna) and the most unusual thing for ANY restaurant (even the pricey ones!) is how clean it is! It looks the same today as it did when it opened! There are hundreds of "regulars" who have gone there for years, which really gives a "small town" feel to this excellent and unique place! Cheers to the two owners for creating this home away from homes for Upper West Siders (and it's family friendly, too!)

I eat or order out from Cafe 82 all the time since their gluten free menu came out. They have never once sent me gluten instead of gluten free (keep it up kitchen staff). Great service. It's a diner so don't expect too much. Huge pasta portions, great variety and willingness to adapt meal to taste preferences. My only complaint is that sandwiches are pretty dry. Great great great.

Great Gluten free menu....that gluten free pasta that they serve is absolutely marvelous... the G-F beer excellent..I did not know that they do parties for people who have this problem .. every first Monday of every month.. I definitely recommend to all of you guys...

It's so unfortunate isn't it that a reviewer can diss a place that's just great because of (probably) a half hour of some confusion or somebody's wife called that the baby was sick or the owner got a parking ticket...whatever... & the service slowed down for a minute. Cafe 82 is probably the best coffee shop on the UWS. . We've gone here for at least 8 years and while it isn't mind-boggling gourmet food, they do a decent salad, a great fish sandwich at lunch, nice corned beef hash, eggs benedict, hamburgers, all those coffee shop things. Their soups are good too. But the most impressive thing about Cafe 82 IS THE SERVICE. Every person working there bends over backwards, runs to help, refresh the coffee, smile & listen to the regular's stories. The owner sweeps around the room often checking in & really trying hard, all the time. These people that dump on a place just really get me sometimes, you know?

I had come to Cafe 82 until I found out I had celiac, and like most other celiacs thought that my days of diner food were gone. I finally went in the other day, and the menu is extensive! I had pancakes (really delicious) for brunch and then I had a cheeseburger with a Redbridge for dinner. Excellent comfort food, good service and great prices!

My wife and I decided to go to this place. We ordered stuffed filet of sole with crabmeat with some veg and pot. The dish itself was absolutely marvelous, fish perfectly cooked and crabmeat very tasty. the staff was very friendly, nice atmosphere. I really recommend it. I am definitely coming back. Cheers!!
