    OK

Thanksgiving dinner with my wife and son. Around 6:30. Nice, convivial atmosphere. Decent service. Turkey good. Stuffing - bad. Cranberry relish - bad. Gravy - none. Asked for gravy, got jus. Pumpkin pie - good. Kind of pricey for what we got. Will everyone please stop being creative with cranberry relish. Something from fresh cranberries, but kind-of-like, out-of-the-can would be very nice. May try again.

    bad service, chewy steak

We used to like going to this restaurant especially on Monday nights because it's steak night so there's a discount on their steaks. It's a good deal if you ignore the fact that the steak is so chewy that it's impossible to swallow it. The last time we went there (and it's going to be the last time we ever go) we had to wait for 45 minutes for our appetizers and another 45 min. for the entrees. There was another time when our bread was hard as a stone so we asked the waiter to change it and he took the bread, went inside waited for 2-3 min. and came back with the exact same bread! We couldn't get him to change it anyway but in the end he at least agreed to warm it up for us! Plus, it's really noisy inside, it's absurd to have to yell across the table at dinner, I don't know if it's the aqustic or the manner of guests in this restaurant.

Good food, poor service, very noisy

Went for Sunday brunch the food was good but the service was some of the poorest I've ever had, and in NYC, that's saying something. The waiter in his rush to remove our food, spilled mustard on my friend's black sweater no offer to pay for cleaning or heck, even a simple apology. He glared at her like it was her fault, and only after I demanded it did he bring a napkin and some water so she could clean herself up. Management couldn't have cared less. Another waiter spilled coffee on my friend's father - again, not even an apology. It was also incredibly noisy.

    Great Brunch

I have lived in the area and have not tried until now. The Norwegian Eggs are amazing, with the rosti potatoes under in place of the normal english muffin, my new fav bennedict in the city. You can walk in get a table, service is fast, and very attentive. The menu has tons of tasty options. This is fast becoming one of my favorite spots in the area. Its great to have a spot this good to grab lunch in a city where i find myself standing in line all too often to eat at hyped restaurants with ordinary food.

    Superb!!!!

We discovered this wonderful place on accident one night. we just walked in because the place we originally set out to find was not there... The four of us - Bea, Jennifer, Allyce and Jim - just walked in and had a great experience. The flavor that surrounds the food and the atmosphere is fantastic. Big steaks, good portions for good appetites. Service was and is always very good considering that it is a popular place. If your recognizable, a great place to go and disappear for a while. The Opera night is also cherished.

    excellent food, excellent deals

We recently went to Cafe Du Soleil and had the pre- theater prix fixe dinner (must be seated by 6:30)the food was really delicious, and what a deal ! Three courses for $20. Lovely atmosphere, and contrary to some of the reports below, the service was very attentive. I dropped a fork at some point, bent to retrieve it, and before I straightented up the busboy was there with another. We will definitely be back.

    Love the new specials!

My favorite restaurant in our neighborhood. whenever i want to be in Paris, but can't afford it, I go to Cafe du Soleil. I love the new daily specials, my husband and I went on a Thursday night which is when they offer 2 dinners including a bottle of wine for $45 and it's traditional french country food. it was awesome. and of course their weekend brunches are also my favorite, a good price for great food. the last 4 or 5 times we've been there the service was excellent, but I remember a while ago when the service was very 'french' and you would be waiting 20 minutes for "'l'addition" (the check).
