Would give it negative service if I could
Food only gets you so far. Service counts and they have really poor service. The money spent on the painting should have been used to hire more servers. I ate breakfast there last week and they spent more time talking about the painting than providing me with fresh water or milk for my coffee.

Great Food, Poor Service
This place has some of the best food in the neighborhood. I have never had a bad tasting meal here. However, the service has gone steadily downhill. The last time I ate there, the waitress never brought the drinks we ordered, never brought desert menus after we asked for them, and completely ignored us, even as I spoke directly to her as she passed by. Until the service improves, I don't plan on eating there.

Don't Order in from here
the food is mediocare to begin with but, I live close and thought I could order in and get food fast. Not only have they jipped me of my order twice now, it takes forever for them to go 10 blocks. I don't recomend it.

Good Food -- but not worth the mediocre service!
Service is almost comically bad -- rude phone service (expect to be on hold for 5 min), waiters who correct your french, deliveries missing drinks...etc. The food is actually good -- better than le Monde or Henry's, but I'm not sure that I could deal with these treasures again!

great!
I have always enjoyed Cafe du Soleil. The atmosphere brings me back to the time I was in Provence. I love the different themed night, especially their monday night steak house and the all you can eat breakfast for $9.95 is super.

Good food, poor service
Just a quick note about Cafe du Soleil- I enjoy the food there, and they have good deals on weeknights. HOWEVER, we ate there tonight, and they gave our credit card to another table! Unfortunately, the other diners didn't pick up on the mistake, and left with our card. Unbelievably, the waiter claimed it was our mistake, and 45 minutes later the manager found that he had in fact handed our card back to an adjacent table (the manager checked the security camera to confirm this!). So in summary: good food, good deals on weeknights, and absolutely horrifying service. I'd strongly suggest skipping Cafe du Soleil, and opting for Community Food and Juice, Oueste, Celeste, or Max SoHa for good food without the terrible service. Happy eating!

WAY understaffed
I just had breakfast on Saturday morning and could not BELIEVE how poor the service was. It wasn't the (ONE) server's fault at all -- she looked harried and miserable. The problem was that she was serving both inside and outside (sidewalk tables) almost by herself. No one took my order, so I reluctantly got the buffet, which I don't recommend -- overpriced and steam table quality. But then I couldn't even get anyone to bring me coffee. HIRE MORE WAITSTAFF!
