Casey Loves Him Some Doppio
It's bar none the best soup spot downtown. I go here a few times a week with my buddies and can't get enough of the Maryland Crab or the Shrimp Bisque which you can get most days. It's also my favorite spot to take a first date.

Any soup variety to meet what you crave
They offer at least a dozen different soups each day, and not just chicken noodle and minestrone. Great selection of tasty vegetarian options that even the carnivorous will enjoy. Some of the unusual include Senegalese Peanut soup and Sopa de Rest. Add a small salad or a 1/2 sandwich and it's just enough to fill you up for lunch. Combo prices are around $7-9. Great, creative flavors make it my daily stop.

How to lose weight and eat great!
A few years back, I was determined to diet and shed the 20-something pounds I gained during my thirties. For lunch, I ate soup, every day. This might sound terribly monotonous but if you go to Cafe Doppio, you get a wide selection of very different types of soups, all equally delicious, filling, and light on the calories (as well as the wallet! I dropped the pounds, and they'd have stayed off, many thanks to my soup-lunch diet. A thousand thanks to Cafe Doppio! (And a million more for making Italian Wedding Soup! Yum! And real, homemade Chicken Soup even during the summer!)

Great Eats and Good Value Downtown NYC
I love to grab some soup and a sandwich here on my lunch breaks. The staff is friendly and all soups are available for a taste. Throw in free bread and fruit with every meal and it's a real winner!

Charming owner!
I popped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon when the financial district is a ghost town. The owner, who was closing down, was so personal and warm and the soup was delicious!

Don't Miss Doppio
This is my favorite lunch place downtown too. I love it so much. The soups are wonderful and homemade. A much better value if you like healthy food. Cheaper than neighbor Hale and Hearty and not at all corporate. Kudos to this wonderful family owned establishment. The owners make you feel welcome and are always grateful for your business. A great stop for downtown workers and very healthy too!

Best lunch place downtown
The soups are just great, homemade and usually very tasty . Some lack a little seasoning but all are very fresh and homemade. Sandwiches are also great. You get a roll and a piece of fruit free with each soup purchase. The staff is so nice and friendly. it is not out of the ordinary for them to offer you a free cup of coffee or your soup for free if you order the last from the pot. They're just great. And it's so nice to sit at a table in there and eat, great, relaxing music and nothing too fancy. Try doppio!
