Solid food, service problems
The food is very decent--good steak frites, tatin, and wine list. The sommelier was very knowledgable and friendly. That being said, the service was very mediocre. No water refills, we poured our own wine, and took forever for the check.

Best burger I've ever had!
Went to DalSace last week and ordered their burger -- omg, amazing! It is seriously one of the best burgers I've had in the city, and I've tried all the big places. Go and you will not be disappointed. $16 might sound like a lot, but it's worth it.

Pretty good food, snooty and poor service
Not a bad place overall; food was pretty good but a bit overpriced for the prix fixe lunch. We found that the hostesses were snooty and did not seem to try to be accomodating. Rather than allowing waiting customers to sit outside at empty tables, the hostess proclaimed certain tables "out of service," for no apparent reason. We waited a very long time for entrees, and often had to flag down busboys for water and to remove trays. Lunch took almost two hours. If you're in no hurry, the outdoor seating makes up for the slow and almost rude service.

Poor service
As previousl;y reported the food here is OK, a bit overpriced but not outrageous. We called to inquire how late lunch would be served--the website said til 5pm and the person answering confirmed this. We arrived around 4:35pm and were told only dessert and coffee were being served. No meal until 5 pm. dinner time. We said we called to verify lunch hours only an hour ago; the young lady maitress 'd couldn't have less. She repeated we're only serving ... No apology, no mistake--too bad. So, we wandered around and came back and unfortunately, we should not have. Food was mediocre. Will never return.

subpar food (but was good months ago)
Soon after the restaurant opened, I had an excellent dinner there. A couple of months later, I found my dinner there to be mediocre. Thinking maybe the chef had been out sick on my second experience, I tried it again last Saturday night. My wife and my dinner bordered on inedible. My waitress confirmed that the chef was "cooking." FYI: The La Moelle was tasteless other than an odd burnt-smokey flavor. I usually love bone marrow - i.e. the one served at Blue Ribbon. The Lamb Payard tasted only of garlic (as did the goat cheese tart). The thin slice of Rib Eye Steak served to my wife tasted odd - was it beef. The vegetables served on the side were inedible - i.e. the asparagus had been cooked until the tough thick skin became browned and extremely tough, the zucchini and the other vegetables were tasteless - as if they had been cooked (not that well to begin with), frozen and reheated, the french fries were extremely greasy. My service was OK; but, I did notice the waitress at the next table spill a considerable amount of water on the table; but, she made no comment and did not clean it up. I tried to email the owners via the address listed on their website; but, it is not accepting emails.

A place for breakfast!
Since I'm a big breakfast fan, I loved that place when I went there with my bf and friends on a sunday morning.. The food was awesome, especially the scrambled eggs with salmon! mm, yummy!

Great place on the UES!
I'm happy to have found a decent place on the UES! And the prices are really reasonable as well. We showed up a little after 8 on a Saturday night without a reservation, and were seated after about ten minutes at the bar. We shared a cheese plate to start, which was really great and the perfect appetizer - satisfying, but not overly filling at all. I had the ravioli for dinner, which I enjoyed very much (it was SCALDING hot! right down to the last bite!) but perhaps had a little too much cheese on it? My husband had the sirloin which came with a divine bernaise - one of the best I have ever tasted - but I have to agree with him that the steak itself was a bit tough. For dessert, you must try the chocolate tart with fleur de sel and creme anglaise. I ordered it because it reminded me of a wonderful chocolate tart we had in Paris. The salt just gives it that something extra - amazing. Total cost of two cocktails, bottle of wine, cheese plate, two entrees and dessert - less than $150. We'll be back! Note though, one major con - unisex bathrooms??
