    It's all in the Delivery

The hostess had that classic pretentious attitude towards us. She would not seat us where we requested stating it was policy not to sit two people at a four seater, which we all know is common, however when another couple arrived just minutes after, she sat them at the very table we requested. When we confronted her about this, she blamed us for not taking no for an answer. The waiter was very nice and the food was nothing special. I would never return just because of how we were treated by the hostess.

    Yummy Pancakes!

I love love love their brunch! they have fantastic pancakes that aren't too filling, and leave you satisfied. Their burger is to DIE for, great from brunch and lunch

    Great experience

We were looking for something "a little different" and found it here. We stopped in after the normal lunch and had everything we wanted...a casual, relaxed setting, satisfying food, nice wine (served at the right temperature) and very pleasant, efficient service. Would have rated it higher but, being the first time, wanted to reserve some room for improvement the next time we stop in - hopefully sooner than later.

    Great French food on UES!

I agree that this place can be a little loud sometimes, but that's generally when the restaurant is SUPER busy (i.e. 12:00 on a Sunday). Even so, this place is a social hangout, not a quaint little romantic restaurant you take a person on a first date. The staff is friendly and never pushy. I went a few weeks ago with a friend and we sat there for 2-3 hours eating, drinking and talking. For dinner, the sausages are cooked to perfection, and so is the duck breast. I didn't like the burger, though. I'd say your best bet is to get the dishes that are authentically French. As for brunch, everything is great! Not one bad dish. My fave is the croque madame (hot gruyere and ham sandwich with an egg on top). Yum! Also, the brunch drinks are great. Not too strong and very flavorful. Then again, any time you can eat breakfast food and drink at the same time is fantastic in my opinion.

I order delivery at least 3 times a month

And I'm never disappointed! I especially love the French Onion Soup and duck breast. They do a really great brunch, absolutely love the bread basket and Croque Monsieur. They've recently added breakfast and I have not yet gone there during the week for that, but I'm sure it's great too. Also delivery arrives within a half hour

    Never disappointed with Cafe D'alsace

Ive been here numerous times for dinner and brunch and every time I have left completely satisfied and wondering when I'll order the next time I go back! Ive always had very good service, even during peak brunch time. We waited 30 minutes for a table for 8, which is fine, we sat at the bar and had some awesome bloody marys! Everyone enjoyed their food, it was hot and fresh. The only problem in the restaurant is the NOISE! It is SO loud you have to shout to talk to people at the other end of the table. If you can, try to get an outdoor table to avoid this. Overall its an excellent place, maybe not the best French in the city, but casual enough that you can enjoy it any day of the week at any time. Also for you coffee fans, their house coffee is a dark roast which is very starbucks-ish. I personally dont like stabucks and of you dont like dark roasts you shouldnt order the coffee!

    average

Ehhh... this place is fine. but that's it, just fine. atmosphere is a bit lacking. Good steak/frites. a bit pricey for what/where it is. better french in the city for comparable prices.
