    Fantastic

Hidden treasure...you can't beat this BYOB cuban oasis. Took my gf there last night, we ordered the Yuca fries, Grilled Skirt Steak (which was the best i've ever eaten), Chorizo, and Salad with flavorful shrimp. The service was above par and the value was even better. Highly recommend this place...definitely going back.

    very good stuff

grab a sixer of negro modelo (or bottle of wine) and get yourself a meal here. brunch is awesome, esp. those mini burgers, and dinner is outta the park. check out the cubano sandwich appetizer and any old cut of meat. this is a great spot to byobooze and get down on some rice, beans and caribbean fare.

    nice surprise

Ate dinner here last night with some girlfriends. The restaurant's atmosphere was nice. I was a tad worried b/c the waitress claimed we needed an RSVP while I saw a couple seat without one up front. We were taken to the back room, which was still very nice. Food was excellent. We ordered Yuca Fries, Ham Croquettes, Grilled Skirt Steak & the large shrimps. Everything was very very good. I was pleasantly surprised!

    Cafe Corta-don't

Cafe Cortadito falls under my top three WORST dining experiences in NYC. Based on the majority of the online reviews I read, this place was a "hidden treasure." The atmosphere was awesome...until I had to awkwardly stand up and physically pick up my table and move it in the middle of my (gross) meal to make room for my dining neighbor to take a trip to the rest room. The food was mediocre. It was lacking flavor, but still tolerable...until the next morning of course when I found myself ill from the meal. But far worse than the food was the service. Typically, if I'm with a group of friends, the food doesn't HAVE to be spectacular...as long as we're enjoying ourselves, the conversation, and the surroundings. But the female waitress was SO incredibly rude, we sat in silence mortified until the check came. I'm typically willing to give restaurants a second chance, but my experience at Cafe Cortadito disgusted me enough to never go back.

A bit of Cuba in NY

I have spent a lot of time in Miami savoring Cuban fare. There have been many times when I've wanted to have good Cuban food here. I never thought it possible until I stumbled onto Cafe Cordito. The skirt steak is "to die for." They use a special chimmichurri sauce that adds additional flavor. Have an authentic Cuban coffee to top it off. Or the flan!!! Not like your ordinary flan...much more substance and flavor. The owners are charming, sweet and generous. I can't understand the negative reviews. Not all any of my experiences there!

    Miserable

I had an experience similar to "unfortunate experience" below - We were also rushed thoughout the meal - waitstaff clearing plates before we were finished eating, refusing to open an additional bottle of wine when there were enough of us there to have one more glass. Cafe Cortadito has the potential to be a great spot - outstanding atmosphere and authentic eats - get RID of the current ownership and stop treating loyal patrons in such a rude manner! I won't go back until someone tells me the restaurant is under new ownership!
