Portions are Perfect
I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Condesa last night, and had to chime in about the portion sizes. If you prefer your entrees to contain amounts of food large enough to feed an entire family, a la the Olive Garden, this is probably not your place. However, if you enjoy fresh food at ridiculously low prices, go! The entrees are absolutely filling, and most are priced around $10-$13. For food that uses seasonal and fresh ingredients, that is outrageous- you can hardly get a mediocre sandwich in NYC for those prices. I had the fettucine and it was amazing, and I even had to take half home.

Perfect Little Restaurant
I have eaten at Cafe Condesa a couple of times and every experince has been amazing. Food is great and the portions are just right, not too big not too small. The waitresses are so nice and make the atmosphere somuch more pleasant. Try their new dessert (strawberries and something).... great!!!

Excellent value in the West Village
Cafe Condesa has become one of my favorite spots to bring friends, have a bite, and linger over a nice glass of wine. For the price, Cafe Condesa offers excellent quality and value. Recommended dishes are the goat cheese galette, the fettuccini, the halibut, the lamb and the superb Earl Grey creme brulee. Kudos to Chef Luis Mota, an alumnus of the kitchens of David Bouley and Union Square Cafe. The staff is warm and caring. Highly recommended!

Not recommended
Although tasty, the food portions are laughable. When I tried to give some constructive critisism to the manager, (specifically the obviously two-inch salmon filet he tried to pass as a full portion, and the mashed potato dollop) he argued with me as if I were the anti-christ of restaurants. It wasn't until I flashed my press pass that he understood that he missed out on what could've been an excellent review, had he been more receptive.

Cafe Anorexia
Twas the night before Thanksgiving when all through the restaurant, not a creature was eating enough to feed a mouse! We order what they called the salmon entree and each plate came with a dollop of mashed potato, three asparagus spears and a half of a filet of salmon. It was a real shock. The wine was nice the service friendly, but this restaurant should not charge what it does for such miniscule proportions. I was soooo disappointed AND when we brought our frustration and HUNGER to the owner's attention he said we should have expected that size for such "reasonable" prices! He called his plates "tapas" although no where on the menu does it mention that small fact.

Cozy little spot
I had my birthday party at Cafe Condesa last friday and had a blast. They were kind enough to accomodate 12 of us, we shared appetizers: goat cheese salad, the delicious dungeness crab and cobb salads. Then I tried the beef Wellington and I have to say it was the best beef I´ve had in months! The place is small and super cozy, staff is great, kind enough to recommend wines and send some sample of dishes. The two young waitress that served us were extremely nice and smiley. So in conclusion: two thumbs up for this new place on th West Village.

superb!
I absolutely loved this place. My partner and I have been there on two occassions and have left with a big smile and very satisfied. For starters the feel of the place is warm and cozy. The Chef, who is also one of the owners, came to our table to make sure everything was ok. Well it was more than ok. The food was amazing. You only expect to find this type of meal at very exclusive, and not say veryexpensive restaurants elsewhere in new york city. We had the crabmeat with asparagus and the halibut and were really extremely pleased. When we thought things couldn't get any better we ordered dessert. It was just enough to finish this tasty meal and was absolutely mouthwatering. I know that very soon this place will have lines out the door so we plan to keep going back very frequently. We loved the food and for the price, it just can't be beat. Very highly recommended.
