    Always Excellent

Went back to Cafe Con Leche, after being there 5 times. I have left only 3 reviews(I think). Well, again this is one of my favorite spots to have dinner in NYC uptown. Was there on Friday, April 28,2006, w/2 friends. To start we had the tostones w/crabmeat in a tomato sauce, delicious. I had a seafood soup that was really good. Then, we had a total of 5 mojitos and 2 strawberry daiquiris,an order of maduros(plaintains), 2 chicken and rices w/chorizo(spanish sausage) w/beans, and a shrimp and mofongo dish. To top off 1 flan. Everything was excellent and delicious. The bill came out to $103,which I thought was very good for everything we had. The waitress was attentive. Its a small spot and some may consider it a hole in the wall, but the food and service are really good! Will be back again!!! 2nd time having the chicken and rice and it was excellent had leftovers for the next day, since they give you a big portion.

    I LOVED Cafe Con Leche

Visiting and missing great cuban...tried Cafe Con Leche on a whim and was so pleased. Go all out and have the Paella! Whenever I am in town I make it a point to eat here...and tell everyone I know about it. Enjoy!

    Superfriendly for groups

I wanted to redress the service rating, which is a bit low compared to my experience. We went there and they seated our unreserved 15-strong group within minutes (admittedly, on a Sunday). It was the birthday meal for two people, so they brought them large brandies and brought us all shots. The food was good - particularly the plaintains and the sauces for dipping the bread. There's a reasonable vegetarian selection, and after I left my phone there they were incredibly helpful in finding it for me... Friendly, fun, and reliable.

    Wonderful!

This was a new experience for me - never had Cuban food before. We ate here before a concert on a Saturday evening. The food was fantastic! Service was good as well. My boyfriend and I liked the food so much that we came back later in the week and had lunch! I will be attempting to find recipes to duplicate some of the dishes we tried!

    Awesome food, awesome value

The food is healthy and flavorful, and the cafe con leche is delicious. You just can't beat the value, especially for dinner.

    Casual Cuban

Being but a lowly college student, I do not have as much money to spend on cuban as I'd like so Cafe con leche is a great option for me and my friends. Loved the empanadas and the luscious sauces they came with and I had a great pork dish with a lime and garlic sauce (pork was a little fatty but I could ignore that since the sauce was phenomenal). Even my picky boyfriend liked it! It's def a keeper.

    I admit I was drunk

Well I was pretty wasted when I ate here, but my roasted chicken was really damn good. And I felt lucky because I had actually ordered some squid which never came - they brought me shrimp instead - which I am allergic to. My friend had ordered the chicken, but he had to leave for some reason, so we made things simple and I just ate his chicken. I was eating with a lot of people everyone else rather enjoyed their food, but were not overly impressed. So just make sure to order the chicken and make sure they know chicken is what you want.
