    Not recommended

Made reservations for brunch for 4 people. When we arrived restaurant not busy. We were seated and forgotten. Had to call one of the waiters to serve us coffee. Coffee tasted like it was made the night before. Had to ask for sugar. Order scrambled eggs on toast and was served cold. Toast was unappetizing. Order pastries & could not eat them. Big disappointment. The waiter never asked how our food tasted, they were all gathered in a corner too busy talking. Hope they get their act together soon.

    Poor Service--Mediocre Presentation

$162 for 2 courses, 2 people should get better service, and attention in the kitchen. The ingredients are nice, some of the preps thoughtful, but the waiter tonight was perfunctory, with a bit of impatience--and the busboy was subpar. It took him four entire minutes to noisily stack each plate, clatter down each utensil, while scraping the uneaten food onto the next lower plate. A truly unpleasant proceeding to have to sit and watch. from 10 inches away. I wish that I had yelled at him. The dishes as presented displayed a much more hasty and less appealing plating than last time I dined here. Not coming back soon.

    expensive

been to a lot of restaurants in the village, but this is the first time i was served an entree of 3 regular sized scallop (less than 1 inch high x about less than 1 1/2 diameter) with 1 little piece of grilled parsnip half the size of the little finger for $29.00 + tax + tip! my husband thought i ordered an appetizer! not worth the money. hungry, i ordered berries for dessert.

A little of Paris bistro in the west village

First time and it sure didn't disappoint in any way! Place is charming and intimate.. We went for an early dinner @ 5:30 and took advantage of the prix fixe menu, available til 6:30, which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. Portions were sizable, without being too much or too little - just perfect! Service was exceptional! Our waiter was attentive without being all over us, and we never felt rushed. I had the frisee salad, (which I order every chance I can), with a light delicious dressing and the steak frites, cooked very rare, exactly as I requested. It came with French fries, but were not indicated on menu. I also ordered a side of brussels sprouts, which were so tasty and cooked perfectly. My husband had a salad and the duck, which was tender and tasty. For dessert, I had a fantastic apple crisp and he had a whipped banana dessert that was fabulous! Great place! Look forward to going back! It is open all day, from breakfast thru dinner. It's a gem!

    Great

I suppose you are familiar with the old: Its Saturday night, we forgot to make a reservation somewhere but we want to go some place kinda cool. Well, this is the place. Very cool little atmosphere, our waiter was amazing and the food was really good. The other people eating there were attractive. What more could you ask for?

    a great little place

My parents and I went here on November 29 for dinner. We had 5:30 reservations as we had theatre tickets at 8 - it's a good thing we went with the earliest possibility as dinner is definitely relaxed. That was probably the only "negative" was we had to let our waiter know that we were ready for dessert (we had done the Prix Fixe that they offer from 5:30-6:30) or we might have missed the show curtain. We found the portions wonderful and nowhere near the "microscopic" or "minuscule" I've seen stated here, so either they have increased their portion sizes or people are far too accustomed to Americanized portions a la Olive Garden and the like. The food was beautifully presented and was PLENTIFUL. I highly recommend Cafe Cluny for dinner and cannot wait to try it for brunch sometime!

    Perfect Parisian Bar

Small, 6-8 seats at the white, marble bar (we always sit at the bar if we can. We feel a the bar is a litmus test for the entire place)....Café Cluny was adorable with a sweet bartender who engaged us in conversation the entire time....fantastic wine by the glass (he let us taste before until we found the right one)....romantic, intimate, in one of NYC's best and most quaint neighborhoods. I sat there with my love for an hour...she had a Sancerre that transported her back to Paris and I a Cabernet that would have stood up nicely to the gorgeous slew of meats coming from the kitchen. I will most definitely be back. If I lived in the West Village, I would have my name on one of those lovely bar stools :)
