    Decent, not great

Had dinner during restaurant week. The food was fine, nothing special. Everything was a bit bland. The scallop appertizer was decent. The fish main course was pretty good, with a pretty large portion. Desert was amazing. I had the chocolate ice cream sandwich. It was served with mint creme on the side. The service was good. The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. It was a nice restaurant week dinner, but I don't plan on going back.

    Great

I went during restaurant week, so my lady and I got prix fixe dinners. This was about two months ago, so I don't remember everything we had, but I just remembered how great this place was and wanted to write a review. Anyway, The truffle risotto appetizer was absolutely wonderful. They were running a promotion with wine when you bought a bottle (I don't remember what it was), but we got a bottle of Martin Ray Merlot (don't remember the vintage) which was great and for a good price. I had filet mignon, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My partner had a rooster dish which was also excellent. Unfortunately I cannot elaborate on the specific dishes, but the service, atmosphere, and quality of food were impressive. I will be back- even without the restaurant week deals it is worth the money.

    Fine atmosphere, good food

Because I was offered a 50/50 birthday coupon through Dine Out New York I came here for dinner with a friend. The deal is that you pay the first $50 on your dinner and the resto covers the rest (up to $50). On top of that it was the week of the winter promotion and the prix fixe dinner was only $35. Needless to say a great deal which amounted to the best meal I had in New York during my trip. The waiter was punctual and polite. Excellent service that received a generous tip. The art nouveau interior was cozy with large tables (we got a booth) so we weren't packed together. Food: My friend didn't think much of the fish soup and felt it lacking in seafood. However, I praised the 4 oysters I had (a reasonable $2.50 each) which went well with the Bass Ale draft. My duck entree was also excellent and the two desserts we shared (one chocolate, one orange) capped a very good meal overall. Sorry, these were special prix fixe items, so they're not on the regular menu here, but I vouch for this place. Finally, the location in the MetLife is close to Saturday night entertainment in Manhattan.

    Great Place

Went here for restaurant week lunch. Pretty good food though not incredible memorable, with the exception of my appetizer. Had a golden beet salad with goat cheese - beautifully presented and delicious. Main entree was a regular hanger steak also well done. My boyfriend loved everything. Our waitress was very attentive. Definitely a place I would like to go to again..

    My favorite dish in NYC....

I have been to this restaurant several times--usually because I have a "Dine Out NY" offer (this place is a member of the Restaurant Associates). I have always had excellent food and service. I always get the lobster risotto because it's so good that I can't even consider anything else. It's not always on the menu (usually only a fall/winter dish), but the chef will make it for you if you ask. It is the absolute best dish I've had in NYC--unbelievably good. Very rich and creamy with lots of lobster. My husband always enjoys his dishes as well. He most recently ordered the duck and found it very tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is nice too--very open with views of the kitchen inside. Large outdoor seating area with high partitions to block out pedestrians and traffic.

Good food - Reservation needed for lunch

Usually you can walk in for dinner but between 12-2 on a weekday you will probably need a reservation. Salads are good. Prices are in line with mid-town. Noise level (especially at lunch) is very high - so if you're looking for a quiet spot this is not it.

    Nice lunch

As can be expected, this place attracts lots of business people (Metlife building). The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly. I will def go back in the near future.
