    Don't Believe The Nay-Sayers Here...

The service couldn't have been better, the food was hot, fresh, and extremely appetizing, and they served the phenomenal partially frozen alcoholic beverage with fresh mint, that was just wonderful! Great team, and great food.

    Somewhat bland & dry, slow

Ate here for lunch with co-workers. The food was rather average. Not a good value considering the price ($12 sandwich). The chicken sandwich was rather bland and overall dry, while the sweet potato fries were also nothing special. I did eat most of them. Coworker ordered a burger but it was rare. Sent it back and it came back burned. Seemed to take a while to get appetizers. Nothing you could get here that you couldn't get anywhere else, for less.

    Always a Great spot...

I have been going to Cafe50West for years. Their bottomless brunch on the weekends makes it "must-go" to place for my friends and I. Great location, very charming spot and the food is very good while being priced very reasonably. My only gripe would be the service. Sometimes the service is beyond amazing and attentive and others times I feel forgotten about. Otherwise, I highly reccomend this place and look forward to many more great times there.

    truly unappetizing food

I was in the neighborhood, and didn't know any places within a few blocks, so I was tempted into Café 50 West... It looked promising, with its dark woods and long curved bar, so I went in for a relaxed dinner on my own. The waitress was friendly until I told her I wasn't drinking, just eating, and then needed flagging down - not terrible service, but not promising either. The menu had many red flags, but the chicken burger stood out to me (despite being called the "Hen House"). This was a mistake. The Hen House was "housemade" with caramelized onions and homemade chips. The chips turned out to be stale, with no crispness whatsoever, despite being both very greasy and overcooked. The burger was tasteless. To make this worse, the texture was mealy. Even the onions were tasteless and soggy, "caramelized" clearly having been imitated poorly for speed. I was hungry and tried, but halfway through my dinner, I had to admit that it was inedible. When I finally flagged down the waitress to get my bill, she asked me if I wanted to take my leftovers home (I did not), but didn't ask me how it had been. I paid and left with a queasy feeling and regret.

Thanks for a great birthday brunch!

My party of 15 waited for about 30 minutes before getting seated although reservations had been made. However, once seated, those who opted for the bottomless brunch were quick to take advantage of the endless flow of Bellinis and mimosas. Service was great - very accommodating and attentive. The drinks kept coming and the food was good, with nicely-sized portions. Our party was tucked in a "nook" and so we could be a little noisier. At the same time, the waiters had to keep passing our table to go to the kitchen so there was definitely high visibility. Even though bottomless brunch usually ends at 3pm, the staff extended it by a half hour for us because of the initial wait. In total, we stayed for 2.5 hours, enjoying a leisurely meal without being pressured to leave. All in all, thanks for a great birthday brunch!

    this place was great

i met a friend there for a quick dinner before a show in the neighborhood, and i was so glad i picked it. we each had a 1/2 order of the middle eastern plate - i think it might have been a special - falafel, hummus, 4 little ramekins of cold salads, and a big pita - it was the best falafel i've ever had, everything was so fresh and delicious and neither of us could finish our food even though we really wanted to. ate at the bar and the place got busy but didn't get packed which was nice. it was only my first time, but very highly recommended.

I like this place just fine!

so, a friend of mine lives next door to this place, and we went there for dinner one night. it was a wednesday night, and there was some action there. the manager, also the owner, showed us to a table in the middle of the banquette, and that's how our journey began. the food was quite good. we had mac & cheese, hummus, fish tacos, a hen house chicken burger, and greek salad. i was very impressed with what we got. and what's nice about this place is the friendly staff, reasonable prices, and cool "homey" decor. Great neighborhood spot! can't wait to try the Bottomless Brunch too.
