Nice seafood!
Arrived a bit early for the 7.30 reservation, received a cordial greeting and offered a choice of tables. Service was attentive, wines by the glass were interesting. Grilled pulpo was as nice as I have ever had, and the branzino was very good, too. Our out-of-town foodie friends are coming in a couple of weeks and we will be taking them to Cacio e Vino.

Tasty Pizza, but Pricey
Ok, so I came here at the recommendation of a friend who knows the owner. First, the place did not seem full (half the tables were apparently reserved), but we were made to stand around for 20 minutes. Second, after my friend and I ordered our pizza, we were made to wait 20 minutes without being offered any bread & olive oil. Mind you, this is commonplace when dining in Sicily. Breadsticks and olive oil is generally considered a foreign/American thing. Nonetheless, I wish I knew this simple item was going to take this long. Had two glasses of red wine, which were nothing to rave about. They were 13 dollars each. 13 dollars for a glass of wine in the E. Village? One word: Hustle. Do not take the waitress' recommendation on food as she will definitely recommend only the most expensive items. All in all, one large pie (0nly 6 slices) and 2 glasses (1 each) of wine ran us $55 and change. Take a bite out of that. Call me old school, but I think it's a bit too much for the neighborhood. Anyways, the pizza was delicious, but I think that there are plenty of all good alternatives. Try L'Asso on Kenmare & Mott. Knocks it out of the park. Cacio e Vino: Not recommended.

Unfriendly Hosts
My reservation was not honored. I did not get an apology from the manager. He just looked at me as though it was my problem, not his. Simple as that. Actually it turns out my troubles at Cacio that night were small, comparatively -- shortly after I arrived an 11-person bachelorette party was forced to stand in the rain for an hour because their table wasn't remotely ready at the appointed time. Yes, the food was good, but I will never go back because I was treated so rudely by the manager.

BEST PIZZA
this is the closest to italian pizza you can get! It's not overflowing with cheese or sauce and the bread is perfect and chewy. I won't eat pizza anywhere else! it's a very cozy and intimate place with great service, too.

deliziosa!
This restaurant is superb and is probably the best Italian food I've ever had. The service is great, the staff and owners are very warm and interactive with their customers. The setting is quaint and cozy yet romantic. The only down side is that its a very small space and does feel overcrowded once it's busy. They should expand! But the food certainly makes up for the rubbing of the elbows.

Wow - Perfetto
This is a real find - true Sicilian/Italian food in NYC! There are not enough words to say enough good things about this restuarant. The food is lick the plate outstanding. And the staff is all Italian - as in from Italy - and the place is filled with native Italians as well - which says something about the great food.
