I can't hear you.
First time there. Chorizo with cockles and excellent app. Red chile with Short Ribs hearty. The service okay. The noise level outrageous. Loud music, loud people, too disturbing. Can't hear yourself think or eat.

ThankyouThankyouThankyou...
I've lived in the west village on morton street for about ten years now...There have been decent mexican places, but nothing to write home about...I strolled into Cabrito on Friday night and had the greatest time! It was busy so my husband and I had to wait for a table, but the bartenders were a blast and even taught me a thing or two about a tequila we tased and liked...then when our table was ready we had two shots of that same tequila waiting for us and the manager told us "those are on us, thank you for being patient! (you never hear that anymore!) Our food was great (even though it was on the spicy side) and the sweet corn special was to die for! My husband loved the margaritas and after leaving we decided that cabrito is the best thing to happen to that neighborhood in a while!

revenge post
I actually like the food at this place a lot, so it pains me to write a bad review, but I've never gotten so much attitude from a waiter before and I feel compelled to post here. The service tonight was terrible, and as we left, after a bit of confusion with the bill and tip, our waiter said "it's ok buddy, mistakes happen." After we'd tipped him well over 20%...I almost went back in and took the money back he was such a jerk. I like the food and margaritas, and its a convenient place near my house, but I'm going to have to find some place else, because I won't be going back.

Eh
This place is overrated. I kept hearing about it from people, so thought I'd finally give it a try. The prices are exorbitant & the food is in no way authentic. Not going back. The only thing I like is the pink goat sign outside. And I can see that for free.

Decent food, unpleasant service
Had dinner here recently. The food was pretty good, and it is not just another Mexican restaurant. The biggest drawback was that our waiter was a condascending hipster. But maybe we just got unlucky.

Complete disaster
I was extremely disappointed with Cabrito as were the 6 people I dined with. We came here for brunch and even though we were the only people in the restaurant when we ordered it took an hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive. Of the 6 dishes, 4 were inediable and got sent back. Our waiter was very friendly but the manager was awful, making us feel as if the situation was our fault. I will never go back.

Returning for the 3rd time this month
We've eaten here twice before catching shows at the Blue Note. The food is creative and never disappoints, the Margaritas are tart and pack a punch - just as I like them. But it's the friendly staff and warm atmosphere that keeps us coming back.
