More banana fritters for my wife

Cabana is one of those few restaurants that specializes in latino eats and does it well. As you walk up the ramp into this place, a hostess will greet and seat you right away if you're lucky. On crowded nights, expect a wait of roughly 30 mins for a table for two. The dining area space is tight so don't expect to fit all your shopping bags from Bloomies (which is down the block) underneath your table. Try to get your shopping done some other time. The atmosphere is a tropic island feel with brightly painted walls and latino music playing. The menu offerings are plentiful as well as interesting. As an appetizer, I enjoyed the mixed sampler platter (bocadillos) which contained various deep friend fritters and my favorite jerk chicken wings. For an entree, I highly recommend the Paella Marinera which is seafood (ie shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops etc) cooked onto of a bed of flavored rice in a small caldron. It's enough to feed two or three depending on your appetite. For meat lovers then I also recommend the mixed grilled platter (Parrillada) which consists of grilled chicken breast, steak, and various tasty sausages. Don't forget to save room for dessert because my wife raves about the banana fritters which are pieces of deep fried bananas with ice cream on the side. This dessert alone is well worth the trip to Cabanas because my wife still craves this dessert whenever we go grocery shopping for bananas.

    Awesome Food & Atmostphere

The food is amazing at this place. The selections are extremely tasty and plentiful! Been there about four times and twice brought friends and they loved it. The service is very good (very attentive), the atmosphere is great ( the spanish music, the vibe, the people, the bar make it so good to be here). Its a total feel good type-of-place. You should try!

The best hispanic food in New York

The Big apple has many good restaurants, but Cabana nuevo latino make a big diference when it comes to talk about food, atmosphere and service. Their food i can qualify it as awsome, delicious and you get big portions whith anything you buy. The atmosphere is spectaculiar good music, sometimes can be a little loud but it's not a big deal. The service is great the waiter or waitresses are always smiling and taking care of you. i recommend it and i know you'll enjoy yourself.

    Great Cuban

We eat here 2-4 times a month and always have a great meal. It?s our default place for out-of-town guests and everyone from our Israeli friends to our French guests have asked to return there on their next visit to New York. Never heard anyone not enjoyed their food and Mojitos!
