I have many of them here with both dates and family. There ren't many places on the UES with a tropical atmosphere (although I do need to check out Sofrito.) They have really good drinks and decent Caribbean/Cuban food. The prices are fair and it feels like it's been there forever. Good neighborhood standby

I'm sorry to say that I went to this restaurant motivated by the many positive reviews I read on this site. But the truth is that I was so disappointed in the food, that I barely paid attention to anything else. The mariquitas I ordered (fried plaintains slices) were cold. I sent them back and was brought another order, which was also cold. The waiter recommended some designer dish with chicken and shrimp. When I asked him about more traditional caribbean dishes - which were on the menu - he made a face as if to say, "you don't want to order that!" The dish was bland. It included two tostones (plaintains that are fried once, then squished, then fried again) swimming in some sort of a red wine sauce. The long and the short of it is that if you are from Cuba or Puerto Rico, this is not the place to go.

I have been to all locations and the food is the same at each place--DELICIOUS! I LOVE the white sangria, Pollo al Ajillo and the Bocadillos appetizer. The service at this location is great--I have had the same waiter a few times and was always so accomadting, friendly and even remembers me and my friends when we return! Impressive... A little pricey for my wallet but that won't stop me from returning.

I love this place and have been going forever. I love the atmosphere b/c its an awesome first date place or even a place for the family or girls night out. The food tastes amazing I have never had anything bad on the menue. It can get a lil pricey b/c the drinks add up but the only bad thing about this place is the service. When you walk in the hostess is rude. The servers seem rude and angry all the time. If you want happy service go to the one in south street seaport..it has a great view of the river and the service is super friendly!

The food is savory, the portions hearty... overall a bit pricey but well worth the splurge. Favorites: Sangria, Platanos (Chicken & Shrimp), Garlic Chicken Entree, Ropa Vieja, Chicken & Shrimp Entree, Platanos Maduros, Paella

I love this place! It is a great get together with a group of friends or even a romantic dinner for two. I lived in Valencia and the pallella at Cabana is the closest to that I have found. The callamari is amazing and the sangria, to die for. I make sure I go to this place everytime I come back home! The waitresses could be friendly but the place is always so packed Im sure they're just stressed out!

I went to Cabana after a friend highly recommended the food. I ordered a paella for takeout, which was overpriced for the oil-soaked food. The service was poor as the greeters gave me an attitude. I will not be going back.
