    Simply Excellent

I've lived in the city for years and have visited more restaurants than I care to recount. But Cabana is one of the few places we revisit over and over again. The food is wonderful. The atmosphere is trendy but NOT pretentious. The service is excellent. And you can pretty much always get a table (...none of the West Village "we don't have any tables until 11pm" crap) Simply a GREAT restaurant!

    muy delicioso

I went with a group of friends and we all had a great time. My coco cabana vegetales were delicious- I strongly recommend it to fellow vegetarians and meat-lovers alike! My friends enjoyed their dishes (most ordered seafood) as well..they raved about their ceviche appetizer. The mojitos were pretty good- try the coconut. A bit more money than I like to spend but not so expensive that I wouldn't return. The only negative was that a member of my party speaks Spanish, and when our waitress discovered this, she spoke only with him in Spanish, even if someone else asked her something in English. Great place otherwise: friendly hostess, brightly decorated giving the restaurant a fun vibe, good music, and, as mentioned, tasty food and drinks.

    Yum

We went tonight to Cabana. It was very crowded for a wednesday night, so we knew it had to be good. The food was good and sangria too! Service was a bit slow becuase it was crowded . Onlynegative stay away from the blood sausage in the mixed meats dish!

    Nice View

Came here with my girlfriend. Great views of Downtown. Overall, the food was good def have to try out the coconut shrimp to start off. Waiter took a long time to get our drinks. Other than that its a great spot for dinner wihtout making a reservation.

    Delicious as always!!!

I had lunch at this Cabana last week w/my friend. I have frequented the Cabana in Forest Hills, Queens many times over the last 10yrs. I was in the area and wanted to this Cabana. The food was excellent as always. We ordered tostones rellenos(4 stuffed plaintains w/shrimp and beef-plus plaintain chips and the best garlic sauce ever!), arepas con queso(cornmeal patties w/white cheese and a black bean sauce-also very good!), mojitos were excellent like always w/the mint leaves and sugar cane. Lunch was a grilled skirt steak-nice and juicy w/tangy red onions, black beans, yellow rice, and a black eye pea soup(that lunch dish was $12). My friend had the picadillo w/the same sides I had and soup, same price. We were too stuffed to have dessert. But, the service was very good. The waitress was attentive. The salsa music was great playing in the background. I would definitely go back to this Cabana. The place was packed also and it was about 3pm. The lunch specials run from 11am-3pm or 11am-4pm.

    Not worth it

I went to Cabana last night with a group of friends. The waitress asked if we wanted a pitcher of mojitos or a pitcher of sangria. We started with the pitcher of mojitos and then ordered a pitcher of sangria. When we got the bill-- the pitcher of sangria was $18 but the pitcher of mojitos was $50!!!! When we aked the waitress about the price, she said that a mojito was $10 so she just multiplied that by 5 people. If that's the way they are going to do it, then don't offer a pitcher in the first place! The mojitos were also a complete disappointment-- they tasted like watered down rum since they were not made with either lemon/lime juice or soda water.

    Fond Memories

I have many of them here with both dates and family. There ren't many places on the UES with a tropical atmosphere (although I do need to check out Sofrito.) They have really good drinks and decent Caribbean/Cuban food. The prices are fair and it feels like it's been there forever. Good neighborhood standby
