Relaxed service with good pub food, Excellent warm goat cheese salad followed by a generous portion of yummy mussels, all washed down with some delicious wheat beer was a great way to prepare for a Broadway show. Being from Europe myself, I enjoyed the easy ways of the wait staff and the fact that did not overzealously attempt to portray their eagerness nor did they neurotically keep filling our water glasses. This helped us to feel like we were briefly on vacation enjoying the cuisine and customs of another county. We would return again to sample more.

If you are looking for brunch in times sq dont come here, the food was too greasy. However, the service is good.

The mussels arrived cold with sauce glopped on top, the frites boring and the sauce was plain Miracle Whip without seasoning. Decent beer selection and the service was quite good, but will never return.

I have never seen such a service, and the managment was only a little better. We waited for a very, very long time. It was such a terrible experience service-wise, that was the only memorable part of the entire experience.

We have family in Belgium and go there at least once a year. So we know good Belgian food! In the last years many Belgian places had open around town and many of th are really good (Resto, Markt) Well bxl cafe is not one of them. We came many times for drinks and they do have a nice beer list but we had the experience of dining there last night and we couldn't even eat our food. It was just not fresh and poorly prepared (unedible). The place looks more like a sport bar and the staff is loud (screaming like crazy teenagers) and unprofessional (did you pick them out from some tourist bus in Times Sq?). I bet the king of Belgium is very disappointed!

Looking for good brunch in touristy Times Square and found it at BXL. Yummy omelette and banana pancakes fit the bill. Will definitely come back as it is a very "unchain-like" cozy place to get good food and drink in the theatre district. (Not overpriced either which is a definite plus.)

Was relly looking forward to the moules/frites here - they were only fair - frites tasted like they were previously frozen - not enough sauce with the moules and they were stingy with the bread - I think the reason for all of the great reviews is that the beer selection is so excellent - a few of those high octane beers and anything would taste outstanding. Atmosphere is nice too so if you don't go with high expectations you can have an okay meal in a fun place with great beer.
