Way expensive for the quality. Super dry.

    Disappointing

First try tonight. Two cupcakes that sounded like exactly what I wanted (vanilla/maple and chocolate/espresso). Both dry, almost weightless cake. Icing was buttercream but neither buttery nor creamy. Sandy texture as if made with granulated sugar. Very small, which I did expect from reading reviews. And that would have been fine if the cupcakes had been as good as they sounded and the price promised.

    Didn't meet my cupcake expectations

I first heard about this place by reading an ad on craigslist because they were hiring. I visited their website and was impressed by all the press they received and how all their baking classes were sold out (possibly due to a recent Groupon promotion). I visited this place today and the spot was really cute, typical EV shop. The menu was self explanatory, no point in looking at the cupcake display because they aren't labeled (except the seasonal cupcake) so you don't know whats what. I told the lady that I wanted a 4 pack $11, and to give me their most popular 3 for each of the cakes (vanilla, chocolate & banana) and that I wanted to try the seasonal (in this case tiramisu). The cupcakes are cute as far as presentation. I had a vanilla caramel popcorn, chocolate with chocolate and sea salt frosting, banana with peanut butter and tiramisu. The signature cupcake was the banana with peanut butter which was probably my favorite of all them, along with the chocolate with chocolate frosting and sea salt (which I was hesitant to try). As far as the cake goes, it was dry. It was very crumbly and I don't drink milk but I was in serious need of some. The frosting was great, creamy, sweet, but didn't make up for how dry the cake was. As for the tiramisu cupcake, it was super moist, almost wet. Weird. All in all, it's the frosting that brings the variety to the cupcakes. The cupcake was dry, frosting was good (which they offer free shots of frosting if you 'like' their page on facebook). They said to have a French & American version of the frosting but nothing was detailed. It was alright but I probably won't go out of my way to go back. I'll venture on to find the cupcake that will make me crave for more.

Bananacake is the best. Interesting flavors

Definitely come here for their famous bananacake cupcakes! They're moist, tasty, and delicious! I'm not a banana fan but their banana cakes would change your view on bananas. haha. I've tried their chocolate cupcakes a few time and...I wouldn't really recommend. they're dry and just not the best.

Words can even begin to describe...

These really are the perfect cupcakes. For the longest time I always got the same thing: white cake, chocolate frosting. At Thanksgiving I picked up an assortment of 2 dozen cupcakes. I sampled a couple (okay, most) of them. They were all delectable, but I'll always remain faithful to my white cake chocolate frosting cupcake. :-)

    Love these cupcakes!

Whenever I am in NYC, I go to Butter Lane. Sometimes twice in one day. I love their cupcakes.

    How dry I am

I brought a dozen cupcakes for 30 dollars. Dry and icing was too sweet, the place smelled amazing, but I was fooled, very disappointed.
