    Worse than Nights in Rodanthe

I went in on a Saturday night hoping for a good meal and was greeted with something worse than a RIchard Gere chick flick. The cocktails were overly sweetened, the service was extremely slow with no real explanation (apparently a line cook) walked out. And the food was sub par. Poorly shucked oysters, two dishes with anise or fennel in them, when it was not listed at all and so slow. Overly priced and underly enjoyable.

    subpar lobster roll

There was no decent sized peiced of meat. It was all the skinny stuff that would be in the tenticles or tip of claw. So disappointing. Ambiance of place was good I just would never go back.

    Good brunch

Stopped in here for brunch today and it was delicious! We had the fried chicken and waffles and the oyster omelet. They even brought us out a free order of the banana french toast because it was a slow rainy day. Everything tasted great and there's a nice selection of East Coast beers on tap too. This is a good alternative to some of the more packed East Village brunch spots. Go now before it gets too crowded!

    Definitely Pop In!

I popped in to Butcher Bay on a rainy Tuesday night. The staff was warm and acoomodating - I really liked what we ordered. Oysters Fresh/diverse, grilled octopus special delicious! and really yummy sangria. The price points are about right. a little high for the space and east village but I would really like this place to grow and do well. The lobster roll was also very tasty. The place is intimate and i felt almost taken back in time to the 60's. GO !

    You'll dig it...

Menu is limited, but everything they have is fantastic - great local beers on tap and a good selection of oysters. Great vibe inside... very chill type of place and they always seem to have great music playing. Only complaint is that they don't change the menu... they change the way things are made. For example, they've changed the lobster roll 3 times... It's f'ng awesome, but they keep changing it... 3rd time and they haven't been open long. Why not just change the whole menu or leave it as is?? What do I know?

    Great Place

Went to dinner and had a great meal. Can definitely recommend the lobster roll and the fried chicken was delicious. They are also generous with a wine pour. Service was perfect as well.
