Wanted to try this place for a while, heard so many great things about it, and let me say I was not disappointed one bit. Ambiance from when you enter the door, by grabbing on to a meat cleaver (how appropriately clever) to the store done up in beautiful wood, not to mention the smell of wood smoked BBQ, wow! Although a bit cramp, only about 20 or so seats, they do have a backyard that accommodates over 40 more. Very cosy indeed and a real cool feel for this neighborhood. 30th Avenue has been overrun by Eurotrash places, but Butcher Bar is not that all. Pay attention to the sign outside, that entices "those in the know," about Southern Q.. the sign proudly proclaims "SMOKE" as in Smokehouse. Now the food. As good as Q gets. Loved the Dry Rub Ribs, the Pulled Pork, Brisket and the Smoked Pork Belly. Hold on did I forget the best part? THE BURNT ENDS! Heaven! I highly recommend this place. Get there early, as they tend to run out, and if your lucky you might get Gina as your waitress, and even meet the award winning Executive Chef Orlando Sanchez and pick his brain about good Q, in Queens!
