    good cop - bad cop

The food is good diner fare. The atmosphere's a bit cramped. However, there is a really nice guy and a really nasty guy ... so when you call in an order cross your fingers that the really rude, nasty guy doesn't answer - you'll know in a second if it's him. But the other guy (owner?) could not be nicer!

When the antipodes are right ...

... the rest is right. I have lived in the neighborhood for a few score years but started coming here fairly recently. Every visit has been a delight. I usually judge a restaurant among other ways by reflecting on the consistency of success between vastly different kinds of entrées. What can be more different than roast turkey with apple stuffing and rigatoni with salmon in alfredo sauce? Both are excellent as were my other meals here. The atmosphere is charming and the service is fine as well.

    Coustomer choices!!

This little cafe/dinner is not pretencious, therefore most of the times they get it right. Let's say being a regular makes me comfortable with their menu and many times i bring, friends and family that just want to grab a bite. I do not usually post reviews about restorants, the solution is simple if you do not like it, the sure action to take is not to go back. Love this cozy little corner on the weekends, early before hell breaks lose and moms dads kids wake up, starving for some real food. For a while i have been ordering take out(who wants too cook after a stressful day at work on a Monday) and it amazes me the total disrespect of the person on the phone towards a coustomer. I can't seem to figure out if this man really thinks we have no other choices. The favor is mutual and I am paying for good service, recently I got so upset that i felt like sending the food back, at the end of the day they lost a coustomer and i, gain a lesson. Go sit there enjoy your food and take a table away from the loud people at the counter. This is 2009 a time where way many places are easy to find and eat.

Guy on the phone needs to learn some manners!!!!!

I hole heartedly agree with the West Villager's comments in that the food here is great for what it is, the atmosphere is always pleasant but whomever is the person responsible for taking phone orders needs to learn a SERIOUS lesson in manners and service. He makes me never want to call in an order and leaves such bad taste in my mouth that I find it difficult to even dine in the restaurant. So unfortunate.

    Trendy little corner spot

Came for lunch with my 2 teeage boys.I loved the atmosphere. Beautiful old building, a little small. It was Aug so the very large windows were open with a great view of the small park cross the st and traffic going by and, of course, busses stopping out front. Very NY! The boys weren't sure they were going to like it but the food was great! One had chicken parm pannini (highly recommend) and the other had grilled cheese. They loved it! Fries were hot and fresh. My salad was superb. Good service. Noticed a nicely blended mix of patrons, looked like locals so I figured the food would be good. I was right! Would definitely go back.

Good food but not so good on the phone

I order from here frequently because the food is decent and the delivery is quick. I would recommend it to that extent. However, be careful when you order over the phone. Someone gruff and impatient is sure to answer. And forget using a credit card. Your "impatient" order-taker is sure to downgrade to "rude"!

Take a deep breath before you call...

Great food, horrible on-the-phone custome service! They're horrible rude and way too to-the-point. The things you do for a decen burger.
