Burritoville used to be...
This was my favorite spot. The green salsa was the spiciest and the best still is but everything else has changed gone is the Bob Marley ( jerk chicken burrito) gone is the atmosphere the flavor and the size of the burritos has been reduced by 25% and if you get that supposed $5 special it's 50% smaller so you end up buying two. The chips taste like plastic. Ughhh. Bottom line this is not the original Burritoville (notice the reviews before 2008 are of a differed opinion, they're at least mixed) it's the new 2.0 version and it sucks.

Better than Chipotle but the old Burritoville was better
I was super upset when the original Burritovilles closed. I used to get the Mega Soy Burrito all the time at the St. Mark's location. So when I heard the chain had reopened I was psyched. But...it's just not the same. The Mega Soy Burrito is so bland now - unlike the old-school version, the tempeh has no taste (it seems to be steamed plain, whereas the old version was marinated and crispy), the soy cheese is not melted (um, isn't that the whole point of a burrito?) and the salsa just plain sucks. Oh, and let's talk about the chips and salsa - they both used to be homemade and super yummy. The old mild salsa was AMAZING. Sadly, the new chips come out of a bag and the salsa tastes like it's Old El Paso or something. The new owners clearly didn't pay up for all the secret ingredients along with the name. Still, it's a step up from Chipotle ('cause, really, Chipotle is just the Subway of Mexican fast food). BUT NOTE TO THE NEW OWNERS OF BURRITOVILLE: Go back and BEG the former owners for their recipes,'cause, at this rate, you'll go out of business soon because the food is so disappointing for die-hard fans of the old establishment. It all makes me sad, because Burritoville used to have the best burritos/chips/salsa on the planet. No joke.

Ugh
I tried the new Burritoville twice. The first time, the rice wasn't cooked and it was cold. But I loved the old Burritoville so I gave it a second chance. Same outcome - INEDIBLE. They literally didn't cook the rice.

what happened to burritoville?
I am sooo sad that burritoville has closed it's doors. Loved their burritos and prices.

stale
maybe what happened here was that they ran out of food and made my burrito with the brown bag it came in. not only do they taste the same, but the beans and rice inside the flavor vacuum are undercooked. and the chips are completely stale.

I * Heart* Burritoville!
Their food is so yummy. I like all of the vegetarian options. Especially the route 66, the fogged in oregon, & the mega soy with the tempeh- all great. The hardest part is deciding which to get. Also love the fire roasted salsa. Its great to get it free when I eat in, but usually this place is my saviour when I'm too busy with work to get out for lunch. They deliver fast 99% of the time and will still deliver to me even if my order doesn't quite make $10. Can't say that for most of the places around here.

Great food for a great price!
I love their Vegetarian Burritos plus free chips if you eat in. Just went this past weekend and they decorated the walls nicely. I usually can't finish one whole burrito by myself so I'll save it for later or share it with a friend. Their tacos are also pretty good.
