    Vegetarian, mmmm

I live just around the corner from this place, but I only starting going there recently. I am ecstatic about finding a place in the neighborhood that actually has a nice variety of vegetarian and vegan options. I used to think I had to go to Whole Foods for that. After living in the Village and Greenpoint, where veggie-friendly joints are more plentiful, I was disappointed by the choices here. But the Box has yummy burritos, vegan chili(!) wraps, etc. I'm not even normally a fan of tex-mex, but I will definitely go here again and again...Finally, I am a salsa snobI won't even touch the jarred stuffand I will say that the salsa here is almost perfect. Fresh, good and spicy, with plenty of cilantro. Bravo.

    The best burrito in NY

My friend recommended this place last weekend. We are both from Los Angeles, which is the Kingdom of Mexican food. She said it was the best mexican food she has had on the East Coast. They have a lot of Spanish choices in NY, but not so much Mexican food. I was extremely impressed with the burrito, and the salsa was very good as well. I was also pleasantly surprised with how quickly I got my food. A burrito was about $8 but it was worth it because it was huge and delicious. It was even good as leftovers later that day.

    Fallen Off

In my three years on the UWS/Col. Circ. this place has really changed. It used to be a quick delivery. Now, they put you on hold for 5 minutes, and it takes another 45 to deliver. The in-restaurant experience is just as bad. Takes forever for food to arrive, and that table in the middle takes up way too much space. Also, the prices have gone up, and while you used to be able to shovel as many chips as you wanted into your bag, they now don't allow that either. For quick delivery and good food, there are a few places in the lower 70's that are much better.

    Surprisingly Good

I have something to say for all of those whiners who complain about the food at Burrito Box: it's the best Mexican place in NYC period! The food tastes great and I've never seen a place with so many Vegetarian options...there is a global food inflation so of course prices have gone up...still cheaper and tastier than most Mexican places Ive gone too...the only problem is the restaurant itself which is tiny and the fact that employees sometimes carry trash through the place...but then again, you're eating at a Mexican place not a five star restaurant...definitely worth a try.

    Best Mexican in Columbus Circle!!

I have been ordering from here for over two years. The food is amazing! Super fresh grilled meats, tons of vegetarian and vegan options, yummy guacamole...the portions are large (except for the tacos, which are normal sized). The only problem is it tends to be busy and crowded all the time...but definitely worth the wait!

You get what you ask for

I went to the Burrito Box because I was looking for the best burrito in midtown. I ordered a chicken burrito, and that was the end of my discussion with the cashier. The order went back to the kitchen and my burritto came out about 5 minutes later. Having not specified what I wanted on the burrito I was interested in seeing what I would get. My burrito came with chicken, black beans, sour cream, lettuce and rice. It was not very good but I will give them 1 star because I did get what I asked for. Don't expect anything special, definately no questions. For example: What kind of beans, what kind of salsa, cheese, guac., or anything else. If there straight ahead burritto was any good then it might be a different story.
