i think when you read the reviews you can tell that the 23st location was way better than the 9th av. location.the difference is evident. i miss the 23st location because the 9av. one just doesnt cut it.

The people who work here are soo rude! I have been in a couple times and there was this one guy there who was super nice. Then I went in and there was there woman there who was sooo rude and started agruing with for no reason! I looked at her like are you serious? I said I would never come back. She just scowled at me. And I have never been back.

If you like great burgers, great fries, great service, great atmosphere; definitely stay away!! MY mushroom cheese burger was missing the mushrooms. My dates burger was served rare despite ordering medium well. Fries were mushy. There was one other table, yet the order took forever.The cupcakes--we figured why bother being they messed up everything else. Too many great places in NYC to ever go back.

We didn't go here with a mission but, happy now that we stumbled upon it. The turkey burger was of good quality and the sweet potatoes were delicious. The service was very friendly. We also left with an extra special treat....if you're going to go here go close to closing time.

There is nothing fancy about this restaurant not the decor OR the prices. What you will get are excellent tasting hamburgers made to order with many options. While the burgers aren't of the two-fisted, grease dripping variety, they are more than enough when coupled with an order of fresh-cut fries or lightly breaded, REAL onion rings. Throw on a couple of extras like bacon, jalapeno jack cheese, mushrooms, or sauteed onions and you have a decent meal. And considering that this IS Manhattan, the prices are very fair. While other burger places might have bigger, messier all-inclusive burgers, they also charge for it. Nothing is free, especially in NYC. Close to MSG, Burgers & Cupcakes is an excellent option prior to any event.

5 of us were walking up 9th ave, read the sign, looked at each other and said "awesome". And it was. The restaurant itself is nothing great, but the burgers were very tasty and the cupcakes even better! Don't make a special trip, but if you happen to be in the area...go! But don't bring a large crowd, it's tiny inside.

The great burgers and friendly staff make up for the lack of atmosphere and location.
