You walk through the upscale marble lobby of the Parker Meridien Hotel, turn the corner past the concierge desk and suddenly, hidden behind floor-to-ceiling velvet curtains you enter what seems to be a roadside buger joint straight out of Kansas- a truly surreal experience and part of the allure of this place, kind of like some "Twilight Zone" episode.. The real draw of this place are the burgers, not so big but well proportioned, fresh, kind of greasy and real outdoor flavor like I have never experienced at just about any other "burger joint" in town. Anyone familiar with the west coast "In-and-Out Burger" chain, a fast food enterprise with an almost cult following (I actually dream about their burgers sometimes), these burgers are as close as you get in this town (though certainly greasier). Sure it's $6 instead of $1.65 but hey, you're in NY now. Someone's got to pay the rent.

This place is exactly what it says it is...it's not called Haute Burger or Palace of Beef...it's called Burger Joint. The burgers are delicious (and i have to say, just the right size, you're not overstuffed), the fries are good (not the best ever, but not bad) and the place is, as promised...a "joint". Get it? For $6 or whatever the burger is, it's a major value - have you ever eaten out in NYC? And I loved the guy behind the counter singing. If you want fancy, go somewhere fancy. Otherwise, sit in your booth, eat your burger and stop complaining.

This burger was unreal. Its juicy, tender, munchy and melts in your mouth the moment it hits you. However, still cant compare to JG Melon...the best burger by far in the city.

So the burgers are pretty much GREAT! But the atmosphere a little weird. Plus they only have like five things on their menu. But I have to say it was an experience and it was pretty good. If you are in the area and haven't ever been to Burger Joint you must check it out.

First off, it's in a hotel so you won't see it from the outside. Go to the building of the address and ask someone where it is. I had the cheeseburger w/ everything, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger was a bit smaller than I expected for spending over $6 for that but flavorful and juicy. The best burger I've had in NYC so far. The fries and shake cost an additional $7 and that was a rip. The milkshake tasted so-so. And the fries were dry. I like to compliment my burgers with at least average fries. I definitely recommend you go for the burger but don't go out of your way. Service was slow, place is small and packed as are many places in the city.

It's the kind of place everyone should go at least once. It's fun and unique. Food is good, but not great. I've had better burgers in NYC. I can't really see the point in going back though. It's crowded and people tend to grab tables even if they are behind you in line. So if you get your food first, you maybe out of luck if you don't grab a table (if there are any) right away. Lots of tourists so that may annoy you if you are a local.

I went here expecting a lot more. This place is TINY and more like a fast food restaurant than anything else. Yes the burgers are good and cheap, but they are small and not that spectacular. The service was speedy! You order from a window and are lucky to get a clean place to sit down. Over all I was disappointed.
