Treated poorly - food was good

Please take my review with a grain of salt as conditions there have likely improved. BUT: When I was there in Dec or Jan of '11 I was told by the hostess that they would seat me, but that I would have to leave within 40 minutes as a private party was to occur. They were doing us a "favor" by seating us. Then, when I asked the waitress, she was unaware that there was a private party and no other tables were put on such a short leash. We came to find out that some "investors" would be needing the table. That is just some poor customer management right there. Other than the above, the food was actually quite good. I had their signature burger. Liked it. Would not go back though due to the attitude. Sorry.

Ridiculously priced wine by the glass

We stopped in after a movie on a rainy sunday to have a glass of wine... I didnt look at the wine list as I am not that picky and was fine with any type of white and went for a HOUSE riesling.. decided to order another... when the bill came my wine was $17 a glass!!!! My bill was $34 with tip i spent $40 for 2 glasses of wine on a rainy sunday afternoon.. i am a little confused at how a house wine could be that expensive, very disappointing ... i feel like it was just unfair at the end of the day to charge someone that much money for two glasses of wine at a burger joint... will not return!!

    Bash Burger and Tater Tots!

The burgers are outstanding, particularly the Bash Burger! Absolutely great burger, and served perfectly with some tater tots, and onion rings! The Bash burger is right up there with any burger in the city, always liked the Corner Bistro, Bistro Burger the best, but the Bash is as good! The tots would make Napolean Dynamite smile! Absolutely check it out!

    Get the Bash Burger!

Came in with high expectations and hoping for an above average burger experience...Burger & Barrel definitely delivered to my expectations! The tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, the Bash burger was beyond amazing - who doesn't want to have a little "bacon jam" on their patty, garlic tots on the side - who doesn't like tots, and the chocolate chip banana cream pie was delicious. The couple next to us enjoyed the smores pie, which would have been my 2nd choice for dessert. $7 wine is a great deal - the Chardonnay was just right. Do be careful to avoid paying dramatically higher prices for other options on their wine list. The atmosphere was cozy and the joint was certainly bustling. Great soundtrack playing in the background - 70s and 80s rock (Stones, Bowie, Crowded House). Wasn't over the top pricey, but don't go in expecting to pay typical burger joint prices because B&B is tiers above Mickey D's. Service was great, and despite the filled to capacity situation, we never felt rushed out. Overall, very yummy and would definitely go back again for more!

    Sneaky sommelier

Stopped by after a day of shopping and decided to have a few glasses of wine and a burger at the bar. The atmosphere was nice and the food was good. My friend asked for a recommendation for a glass of red and the sommelier (who overheard us asking the barternder) recommended something which we almost ordered . . . until I noticed it was going for $35 a glass!! (He also recommended another glass for $40.) Usually waiters / sommeliers will preface a recommendation that is priced so much above the average , with something like, "well, if you want to spend a bit more" but I almost felt like he was trying to trick us. Also, the bar menu only has wines by the glass so if you're two people and have a few glasses each, it can really add up. 4 glasses of wine, a burger and one appetizer = $96. Better burgers elsewhere without the sneaky sommelier.

Perfect place to go with anyone who loves wine and good food. The Bash was amazing! The wine on tap was awesome. Love B&B!!
