    Perfect burger every time

It took me a year to make the trip to Burger & Barrel - I was told about it one day at LURE. Now it's been barely a month since I went there for the first time and… I've been there already 3 (THREE) times ! I'm totally hooked ! To avoid the crowd that some complain about I always go there in the late lunch hours. Just a couple of people at the bar - perfection. My first burger was, of course, The Bash. Hey, you can't start your B&B experience with anything other than their signature burger ! And boy, was I taken.. Didn't seem big enough at first but REALLY it is the perfect size. Add to it the delicious fries that come with it - I barely finished it. I had to come back to B&B because on the menu there was the Mushroom & Gruyere Burger that caught my eye the first time around. And it was just as amazing as it was simple. Cooked medium-rare, with the aforementioned fries, chased with a nice and cold BluePoint.. yumm.. And now that the winter is finally over and it's time to get back in shape - I said to myself: OK, no more burgers for a while. Hmm. Didn't quite work.. I saw a tweet yesterday (find me on twitter @justyniak) that the Black Truffle Burger is on the menu and I just couldn't resist the thought.. I HAD TO try it. And so I went in today. The familiar by now face of Joshua the bartender made me feel at home. It was obvious what I was going to order so we made no fuss about the menu. When my plate arrived, I was surprised not to see my favorite fries BUT.. they were replaced by the most amazing rosemary tater tots.. served with truffle aioli.. need I say more? And the burger.. ahh THE burger.. It's been 4 hours since I had it and I still refuse to brush my teeth.. As always - the perfect patty but also the taleggio cheese and the shaved black truffles… What a combo ! PERFECTIONNN !!! Beware, the Black Truffle Burger will set you back $40. But believe me: it's worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. Go for it. Do it. Order it and eat it. And then go back to your diet =))

    Awesome food with Soho attitude

A couple of my guy friends and I tried this place for dinner this week and all away pretty. The food here is creative and delicious. We started with the chicken lollipops, which may have been the best chicken I've ever eaten. We tried the fish tacos which were solid, and a duck egg appetizer special which was delicious. I was in the mood for red meat and had the Bash Burger which was amazing. Definitely loved the food here. The only downside to the place is the crowd- it's full of people who would go out to dinner in Soho on Thursday night. Just a lot of snotty, self-important types- but hey, it goes with the territory. The staff was attentive, though they did seem almost as snotty as the patroons at times. That said, I would definitely go back for the food as the crowd wasn't that big of a deal.

    Great

Wedge salad was great. Burger was great size and they cut it for u, comes with large portion of fries and can substitute in one of the other choices if you dint want regular fries. Drink serviced was very fast. Very cool atmosphere and great music in background. Would def go back again.

    great addition to the hood!

I live around the corner and have already been to B&B a half a dozen or so times since this spot has opened. I've had great experiences everytime - the food is delish and unpretentious (unique for soho), the severs are super friendly, and I always leave with a satisfied belly! The tuna tartare is out of this world. I also love the salad wedge, shrimp ceviche, bash style burger, and smores pie for dessert. Cocktails are tasty but a little pricey... but then again, this is soho. Overall, love it and will continue to go back!
