Eh. The food was OK. My sauce was very wattered down. The waiter was nice. Overall just an average experience.

I had high hopes when we were first seated in the restaurant's quaint rear garden dining area which was simply but tastefully decorated. The problem from the beginning was with the waitstaff, who seemed more interested in a soccer game on television than with attending to their guests. Our waiter even stepped away from the table mid-order because of something that happened on the TV. The length of time between visits was unacceptable, and to make matters worse, when our waiter finally left us with a check, it was for another table (which was substantially higher than ous). After waiting for another 10 minutes, we finally had to bring the check to the waiter so we could pay and leave. As it was, we were there for nearly 2 hours for lunch! The food was average, but I probably would have enjoyed it a little more if the poor service hadn't left such a bad taste in my mouth. The restaurant has potential, but a strong willed manager is sorely needed to straighten out the waitstaff issue.

AMAZING! While in New York I went this restorant and absolutely LOVED IT! The food was so good I have been dreaming about it ever since! Though our waiter was rude and not very attentive, the food and atmosphere made up for him. I definitely recommend this place to anyone!

My finace and I had dinner at Buono Notte on our first trip together to NYC. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding! Our meals were fantastic and our server was pleasant, polite and even bought his tables after dinner cordials. I have since returned to Buono Notte MANY times and would recommend to any of my family and friends. To those of you who had a bad experience, I would definitely give it another try! I've had lunch and dinner there on more than a dozen occasions and have always been impressed!

After reading these reviews, I had high expectations for this quaint italian restaurant in Little Italy. Sad to say it was merely good, not great. Bread was served cold with rock hard butter. Salads were a disappointment. Ravioli was bland as was the spaghetti bolognese. Lasagna and fettucini alfredo were much better choices, but still not as great as expected. Service was mediocre.

I am both Italian American and native New Yorker. On a recent trip back to NYC, I enjoyed dinner at Buona Notte. Or I should say I ENJOYED dinner at Buona Notte. The food was authentic and very well prepared; my nonna would have been pleased. Service was very good in spite of the fact that I was da solo; a status which means that one can sometimes be overlooked, but that was not the case here. Reasonable prices too. If you are planning to eat in Little Italy, it's hard to beat Buona Notte. I felt like I had come home!

The quintessential Little Italy restaurant. Not over run by toursits, great service, paired with even better food.
