We walked into Buona Notte on a very warm, crowded streets day and were instantly transported to a cool garden in Italy! We ordered icy cold martinis and started with the Mussels Marinara and were presented with a generous serving of fresh plump mussels. We then moved on to Fettucini Alfredo and Spaghetti and Meatballs served in gourmet style sizes (which I appreciated as these are 2 very rich dishes and I was kinda full from the mussels). Both dishes were excellent. Bread and wine rounded out the meal. My only dissapointment, at first, was there were no beef dishes available and my 2nd slight dissapointment was the Italian wine was not as robust as I had expected from the description but I admit I drink a alot French wine which can be too robust! We had a wonderful conversation with some of the staff and were so happy we stumbled into this restaurant!

Very limited menu. The gnocchi arrived tepid and starchy. The chicken with proscuitto and eggplant was way too salty. Do yourself a favor and walk a few more steps, there are many better places to eat that don't cost any more than Buona Notte.

Growing up Italian I never thought I would have food like we had at home untill I first had lunch. Great family place to go, I miss it already

I have been to this place three times over the past several years, and the first two times the food was wonderful, staff helpful and fun, atmosphere romantic and relaxing. My date and I walked in there last week and it was like Jekyll and Hyde. The appetizers were soggy, tasteless and rubbery, main dishes nothing to write home about, and the service was all over the place. Wrong food delivered to numerous tables while we were there, very little attention at our own table. I was VERY disappointed, as it was my 40th birthday dinner, and I was looking forward to it with anticipation.

I went to this resturaunt quite a while ago, but I have to say the very loud little man in the zoot suit is AWESOME!! Granted, I am a college student and went there with friends, so not a romantic evening, but the atmosphere was delightful and the food was some of the best I have ever had. We spent a substantial amout of money for college students, but it was worth every penny, and I am planning on returning there on my next trip to NYC.

We recently visisted this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The Insalata Di Mare is to die for. Tender and well marinated pieces of fish were served. My husband had a fabulous pasta dish and my chicken rollatine was fantastic. Great service and reasonably priced.

We visited this restaurant on Mulberry Street for the first time last night. We WILL be back! We both had the Rigatoni with baby meatballs... highly recommended! The service was fantastic... not too smothery, but very attentive. The appetizer was great, as well. Our total bill was just $59 for the two of us, quite reasonable for NYC. If you are looking for a quaint place to enjoy a relaxing Italian dinner, go to Buono Notte.
