Simply the best.
May not be the best vale for money, may not have the best ambiance but certainly the best Indian food in New York, hands down. Recommended dishes - malai kebab, chicken makhani, raan, daal Bukhara, palak bhutta, paneer dilruba, garlic naan and roomali rootis. And a kingfisher to wash it all down! The staff is amazing and Alok the manager leads from the front.

Bukhara Going Downhil
This restaurant used to have a good reputation but is now going down hill. The number and quality of dishes at the luncheon buffet does not justify the price. The buffet takes place upstairs. The dining area upstairs, in general, is small. The food is right near the staircase which makes it uncomfortable for people to get their food since its a high traffic area.

Mediocre food
I just had dinner at this restaurant after reading good reviews. The food was nothing to speak of. The quality of the food was terrible that there is no way that this restaurant is considered a fine Indian. It is probably one of the worse places I have been to and one that is way too expensive for the quality of the food.

Not worth the money
We really wanted to love this place and for the food to be worth the money, but it just wasn't. The truth is, you can get Indian food that tastes just as good or better elsewhere, and for less. This is from someone who has lived in India and has a pretty good understanding of Indian dishes.

Grossly overpriced!
Went there for dinner tonight. Food is not bad but NOTHING special - you can get the same in any Indian restaurant. Go there only if you are ready to pay $22 for 3 small pieces of chicken in mediocre sauce, and 19 for a quarter of a cauliflower head with undercooked onions. Plain white rice is $8. Do yourself a favor, find another, more authentic and decent, price-wise, place.

Delicious Indian food
I felt like I was eating in an upscale Indian establishment in India. The food was authentic, served in traditional copper urns and if you wanted, you would be welcome to eat with your hands - Indian style!! The heat level was perfect as we requested spicy and got spicy (but not necessarily Indian spicy). Joe had never had goat before and really enjoyed it...it was incredible!! The lamb goscht had the most succulent sauce. Only downside was the lamb was just a little tough. Oh, the raita was so creamy and savory - the best I have ever had!! And you know you're in an authentic restaurant when the majority of the clientele is of the same ethnic origin! LOVED IT!
