    Have to understand Soccer!

Amazing food!! but all americans must know that soccer in Argentina it's a religion, so don't be silly to say "turn it off" or whatever, because that's the best way to show the world that soccer + a really good steak it's the authentic argentinian style! Service was so so. BUT i love the soccer + food combination.

    Service drags the rest down

We went in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was empty. We were told that we could not sit out in the garden. The waiter was OK, but slow (what else did he have to do?) The food took a long time, but we assumed that it was because they were preparing everything fresh. The food was good, and worth waiting for. Steak cooked perfectly and the sauteed spinach was delicious. But midway through the meal when they turned on the TV, it started to go down hill. I asked the waiter if they could turn it off. He said I would have to ask the owner, who was sitting across from us with a group of his friends. When I asked him if he could turn it off, I got a very curt "no". The quality of the food could not wash out the sour taste this experience left in our mouths. With so many steakhouses in the city, don't know if this is worth a return visit.

    Great Steakhouse in unlikely location

Having spent quite alot of time in Argentina recently was interested to see what the east village could offer on this front. Menu is very argentinian, including excellent empanadas and beautifully scuplted steaks. Lomo like I havent had before here in NY. Anyways the service is excellent and attentive, the wine list is comprehensively malbec....we had an excellent malbec reserva for $30.

    Great for a date.

The thing you look for in a restaurant when choosing a date destination is simple- inexpensive (because your saving for the NY drinks later) yet great food. This is that place. The food is as amazing as it is inexpensive. Where else in Manhattan can you get a great Filet Mignon for 23 bucks. The service has only one negative: you have to wait a good while to be seated. Thankfully they gave us a good quiet space in their patio; perfect romantic setting. Overall I was pleased with the diner service and would recommend the restaurant to anyone on a first date.

    It was ok.

Went there for a friend's birthday dinner. Waited 2 hours for a table for 10! The food is ok - not great. The steak from South America is good, but I expected better. Filet Mignon was very average. The red wine we had was great. The service was very good, but the bill was hefty. I don't think I willl go there again.

try this new restaurant during the week. The meet is natural from south america. The service is very amicable and prices very fair.

    Authentic

Went to Buenos Aires for a surprise birthday dinner--We started out with a pitcher of Sangria, which could have been a little stronger, but was good nonetheless. I'm a huge meat person, BUT tried the corn empanadas and spinach empanadas and both were unreal. Pastry was baked light and fluffy, not fried...was absolutely delicious. Also started with the chorizo, which for the bilingually challenged is spanish for sausage...the chorizo was great and came with an amazing chimichuri...just couldn't believe I was paying $5 for a single piece of sausage. The dinners were great, but kitchen was a little slow, especially for a monday night. However, knowing that we were throwing a birthday dinner for a friend, our server brought a complementary bottle of champagne to the table. Very nice touch. Would absolutely recommend for an authentic taste of Argentina...as long as you don't have somewhere to be immediately after dinner.
